The Monarch Fastpitch Club is first and foremost a voluntary parent organization whose primary purpose is to bring enthusiasm and continuing support to both the Monarch High School softball program and the Monarch Middle School feeder program. Without continuing parent participation, however, we are nothing.
The Club was formed in 2006 with all organizational fundraising activities being driven to support the growth and quality of softball for our children now, but more importantly, for our children of the future. Since inception, the club has raised over $15K through the support and hard work of our families, friends and neighbors, along with the generous participation of our local business community. Examples of fund-raising events include, but are not limited to: our annual pancake breakfast at the Tri-City Elks Lodge, pasta dinners & silent auctions, car washes, donations by local restaurants for Club-sponsored dinners, advertising sold in softball brochures and participation/contributions from the Monarch High School Booster Club. In 2009, we will have a dinner at Beef “O” Brady's on Friday, August 28th and a pancake breakfast at the Elk's Lodge on Saturday, September 12 which will serve as our lion share of fundraising for the fall of 2009.
All funds raised to date have been used or earmarked for many exciting and needed items for the program. The batting cage next to the softball fields, maintenance of the fields, required softball equipment, external resources (i.e. outside coaches/expertise for player fitness), and game score-keeping are just a few examples where the funds raised go. In addition, just this last year, the club has established a Softball Achievement Scholarship to be awarded to qualifying Monarch senior softball players. This program is in place with set criteria and we are very pleased that the club can financially assist Monarch softball playing graduates in their academic pursuits.
Equally important is the “team spirit” aspect of the sport which the Club has organized and funded by decorating and supporting the High School “Senior-Day” festivities as well as the End-of-Season Banquet along with player and coaches gifts. Additionally, the club has supported the Middle School programs in this arena with end of year celebrations and team-building activities.
Lastly, there are additional expenses which the club sponsors such as the website, legal fees, etc. Our charter is simply to supply funds that cannot be covered by the current school budget for making the softball program a better place to be.
The Monarch Fastpitch Club is a non-profit organization and will continue to grow in fastpitch softball, only with your support. We need you!
