2007 CLL Umpire Guidelines
Welcome to CLL Umpiring
CLL consists of various levels of play from Tee-Ball to Senior Girls Softball. In most of these levels, the need for trained umpires is critical for the safe and fair progression of all games as defined in the rules of Little League Baseball and Softball, PA LLBB District 27, and your local CLL. While the league has a group of dedicated and very well trained umpires, they cannot support the hundreds of games that take place at the Wampler Complex throughout the season. Several of these umpires are so proficient that they are assigned games at District, Regional and National levels during tournament play.
The Board of Directors has defined that each manager and coach will be assigned three (3) games throughout the season for which they will serve as an umpire. This will help us to meet our umpire needs while also providing additional support for the managers and coaches to review, understand, and apply rules of LLBB and CLL. Every effort to avoid team practices and games will be made, but rescheduling and the mass number of resources will prohibit this from being an error-free event, so latitude and patience are requested.
