Remember the warm summer nights...school's out for the summer...cruizn' the 'strip' in your 'ride'...windows down...your favorite tunes on the radio...just you, your special 'squeeze' snuggled under your arm next to you...one hand on the wheel, the other one on ...well, ahhh, the wheel too right?...and your 'baby'...your car...
You and your car were one...'she' was more faithful than any other love in your life...'she' responded lovingly to your lightest touch...'she' faithfully transported you to school, work, the game, The Suds, Tee Pee, friends homes, and yes, even to that 'other love of your life's' house without complaint...
'She' and you shared a deep understanding...you knew each others moods, moves, and eccentricities thoroughly...you loved her, gave her only the best (well at least the best you could afford!)...cared for her...kept her clean, rubbing her down with lush and exotic compounds (Turtle Wax) until she glowed in the night...
Will any of us soon forget the feeling we experienced when we sat in her, inserted the key into the ignition, and with the slightest bump of the starter she would come to life!...that deep throated rumble of a freshly tuned engine running through glass packs...all dressed up in Wide Oval Red Lines...awaiting nothing more than to be slid into gear and for pressure to be applied to the 'loud' pedal...
'She' was the Impala's, 'Stangs, Cuda's, Camaro's, 442's, Challengers, Chargers, Tri-Fives, and yes, the Tempests, Falcons, Starfires, 'Beetles, Nova's, 88's, Fleetsides, Vista Cruisers, and Buick Specials. The 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's were 'our' times...golden carefree days...warm exciting nights...
What happened to those days?...is 'she' still with you?...or did you abandon her for another, never to see her again...perhaps now in some manner trying to recapture those magical days...
Here's the place to show off that 'special' ride. The one that's recaptured our heart, re-kindled our youth, and helped redeem us of the 'mortal sin' of ever letting 'her' go.
