Concord NH to Host 2009 Babe Ruth Softball World Series Hosting a Babe Ruth World Series is an enormous undertaking. The World Series Committee has been meeting weekly since last August. Many more volunteers are needed for a wide variety of tasks. Another critical task is fund raising. The goal is $100,000 to cover costs and overhead, NOT a trivial endeavor. The Babe Ruth Softball 16U World Series coaching staff of the Concord host team has selected the local senior league players who will represent the State Capital in the Babe Ruth Softball 16U World Series.  The following players are members of the Concord 16U team:  Vanessa Benincasa, Rachel Boynton, Heather Calley, Erin Demers, Joardyn Doulliette, Katie Kennard, Marciana Longley, Sarah Lucius, Kelsey Martel, Amy Morin, Jasmine Morin, Emilie Muller, Kimberly Nesbitt, Hannah Parker, Lindsey Stevenson, Trish Sloper (bat girl).

"This team will be very competitive and will be a tough opponent for an team they match up against," says Concord Manager Mike Demers.  "Many of these Concord players have been members of Babe Ruth State and New England Champion teams.  They have competed successfully at very high levels and know what it takes to win."

All team members participate in Concord Northeast, Concord American and Concord National Leagues.  Several are also members of Concord High School, Bishop Brady High School and Merrimack Valley High School softball teams.

Eight regional champions will join the New Hampshire State Champion and the host team from Concord in the 16U Babe Ruth Softball World Series at Concord's Memorial Field from August 8-15.
