The Columbia Ravens Football, Inc. is happy to announce that the organization to field teams in the upcoming indoor football season. Here are some basic facts about the upcoming season:
- Indoor Football is 8-on-8 man tackle football generally played on indoor turf fields around the state. Games last no more than 1 hour with two 24 minutes halves and only two timeouts per game, so the game is very fast-paced.
- Teams formed for ages 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U and 13U. Age determination for these teams will be August 1, 2011. Must be at least 6 years old by 9/1/2011 to participate. There is no weight restriction for indoor football. Teams generally consist of 11 to 15 players. Team practice schedules and locations will be set by their coaches.
- Registration Fee is $140. There is no fundraising requirement for indoor this year.
- Mail-in registration is available now. Complete the Indoor Football registration form and mail the form and the $140 payment to the Columbia Ravens, PO Box 6413, Columbia, MD 21045.
- Practices will begin in mid-March. Games will be played in April and May at indoor turf facilities around the state.
- Other dates of importance will be announced in the coming weeks. (1) Parents Meeting, (2) Roster Certification, (3) Equipment distribution.
- What documentation is required to play indoor football with the Columbia Ravens?
- Completed medical evaluation for participation form dated after March 1, 2011,
- Completed registration form and waivers and registration payment of $140, payable to Columbia Ravens,
- Equipment deposit check of $150, payable to the Columbia Ravens. Checks are held, but not cashed unless equipment is not returned in good condition.
- A valid Maryland MVA ID card.
