Welcome.

The Colorado Springs Lightning team was officially welcomed
to the Quicksilver organization. They
will play as a 14-and-under team and call themselves Quicksilver-Fitz.

Teams for 2003.
·
The statement was made that QGFS is an “A”
organization. In 2003, every team will
play “A” regardless of the hand dealt.

We will to field the following teams:

12-and-under.
·
14-and-under (two teams).
·
16-and-under (one team for sure, possibly two teams).

18-and-under (one team for sure, possibly two teams).

All coaches are expected to help out at ALL the tryouts! Those coaches not picking players will be
running the drills. Coaches should wear
the white "Property of Quicksilver" shirts.

The question was asked about whether players currently on a
squad should come to tryouts. The
answer is yes. It was also stated that
those players should not fear the tryouts, but should come to validate
themselves.
·
In the situation where more than one team is looking at
players (i.e. 14s). The coaches will
get together after tryouts to determine which players go where.

General Discussion.
·
Tournaments:
·
Teams should plan ahead for the big tournaments (Pony
Express, Colorado Classic, Fireworks or Independence Day).
·
We will try to run the AFA "B" State tournament in
2003 as an organization.
·
The Pikes Peak Invitational will continue to be run by
QS14-Fitz.
·
The Cheyenne Mountain Invitational will continue to be run
by QS16-Roberts.
·
An announcement was posted to the Colorado Fastpitch website
about the availability of 16U and 18U coaching positions.
·
The next QGFS organizational meeting is being scheduled for
Wednesday, September 4th, 7:30 p.m. at "In The Game".
