Softball in Heaven?????
Two ninety year-old women, Rose and Barb, had been friends all of their
lives. When it was clear that Rose was dying, Barb visited her every day.
One day Barb said, "Rose, we both loved playing women's softball all our
lives, and we played it all through high school. Please do me one favor:
when you get to Heaven, somehow you must let me know if there's women's
softball there."
Rose looked up at Barb from her deathbed, "Barb, you've been my best
friend for many years. If it's at all possible, I'll do this favor for
you."
Shortly after that, Rose passed on. At midnight a couple of nights later,
Barb was awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and
a voice calling out to her, "Barb, Barb."
"Who is it?" asked Barb, sitting up suddenly. "Who is it?"
"Barb--it's me, Rose. "
"You're not Rose. Rose just died."
"I'm telling you, it's me, Rose," insisted the voice.
"Rose! Where are you?"
"In Heaven," replied Rose. "I have some really good news and a little bad
news.""Tell me the good news first," said Barb.
"The good news," Rose said, "is that there's softball in Heaven. Better
yet, all of our old buddies who died before us are here, too. Better than
that, we're all young again. Better still, it's always springtime, and it
never rains or snows. And best of all, we can play softball all we want,
and we never get tired."
"That's fantastic," said Barb. "It's beyond my wildest dreams!
So...what's the bad news?"
"You're pitching Tuesday."

Emmitt Smith
For me, winning isn't something that happens suddenly on the field when the whistle blows and the crowds roar. Winning is something that builds physically and mentally every day that you train and every night that you dream. ~ Emmitt Smith

We come to play, we play to win!
1. Getting picked off a base. 2. Not sliding. 3. Not knowing how many outs there are. 4. Missing a signal. 5. Not advancing the runner. 6. Throwing to the wrong base or behind the advancing runner. 7. Not throwing to the cutoff from the outfield. 8. Not backing up the play. 9. Not being able to get a sacrifice down. 10. Not calling for a fly ball or popup. 11. Taking a called third strike. 12. Not getting the sure out. 13. Not hustling all the time. 14. Fooling around. 15. Not taking it seriously, when everyone else on your team does.
Play Hard! Play Smart! Play To Win, Everytime You Play!
A BALL PLAYERS PRAYERS PRAYER
A Ball Player's Prayer God grant me wisdom, to tell a strike from a ball, to know where to throw and never to fall. Keep me always in the base line, running straight and true and I'll look for your sign, to stretch one into two. God give me vision, to see every pitch so if a player needs help, then I will see which. Let me always hustle, so I'll be at my best, take pride in myself, in sports and the rest. God be my strength, when I throw the ball when I'm far from home plate, or against the wall. So I never miss a base, please guide my feet, bring me home safely, so my job is complete. When I help younger players, let me always give praise, so they'll see You in me, in all of my ways. Please guide our coach, to be fair and smart, let him teach me to be good, let it come from his heart. Let me take a loss, just as well as a win, to do any less, is surely a sin. As long as I can play, let me make my parents proud, as proud as I am, when they yell my name out loud. However my games end, let me always have fun, and if heaven has all stars, I'd like to be one. When my games here are over and my seasons are done, let me play on your team, just like your Son. By Hal Skinner

Athletes Prayer
Athletes Prayer Just before the big game the softball player said…. "Excuse me girls for just a sec, while I go bow my head". And in the quiet of the room, the softball player prayed… "Oh, GOD if nothing, hear me now, I know that fate is made." "So help us LORD to win this game, For it is the “BIG ONE”, you see, And if we lose this game, that’s it for our team. Please do this Lord, for me." And as her body knelt in prayer, she looked up to the sky to say… "And while I'm here, and have some time, I need to ask you why?" "They say you never help teams win, but I must ask why? Why can’t you help us, just this once I pray? We will pay you back in kinder deeds, or perhaps in other ways." And then from up above she heard…. "The reason I can't help you win," The Lord, replied, "Is while you're asking me to win, so is the other side." "For I am everyone do FATHER and I cannot take sides? Games must be played on your own, Or else they would all be tied." "But that doesn't mean you should not pray." Continued the LORD with care, "You can pray that players don't get hurt, And that all the calls are fair." "And then I won't just watch the game, I'll bless it with my care, Because dear child you need to learn, That life's not always fair." And as the player heard this voice, she responded with a prayer, Dear LORD, "I pray for fairness," said the girl, "And for your tender care." "You shall be blessed," the LORD replied, "Your team and you the same. But now you must excuse me child, For I cannot miss this game."

Believe and Achieve
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
Jordan
I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. ~ Michael Jordan
