Colorado Intensity Softball: Welcome

MORE THAN JUST A SOFTBALL TEAM…

batsballs
Colorado Intensity Softball (CIS) is dedicated to providing girls with the opportunity to participate in a quality USSSA sanctioned softball program. CIS emphasizes all aspects of the game with a special focus on the mental preparation necessary to compete at the highest levels. We work to keep our girls “on the field and off the streets” by providing a positive environment concerned with each girl’s personal development.
WHO ARE WE?
Three individuals started CIS with a common love for the game of softball. Sara Trujillo, Ernie Estrada and Jim Trujillo have worked tirelessly for the last 8 years to build a viable program that caters to girls within Metro Denver.
CIS will facilitate 2 teams in 2009 providing opportunities to 30 girls. The two teams formed will consist of young ladies, 10-18 years old. We work to tackle both the transportation and funding issues, while simultaneously creating a comfortable and positive environment for our participants.
CIS has built relationships with both The Circle of Latina Leaders and the City of Denver Parks & Recreation Department. These relationships have provided the ability to utilize additional funding resources and to host the “Metro Classic" Tournament each year.
WHY DO WE DO IT??
The young ladies within our program will learn not only the necessary skills to play softball, but also relevant skills needed in life. Our program teaches teamwork and emphasizes the accomplishments of our participants. Providing young ladies, which would not otherwise have the opportunity, with the support system and mentoring needed to play the sport at an advanced level. Our program gives our participants a sense of belonging and usefulness, as well as a sense of achievement and competency. Our program gives these girls a positive experience that will influence their life and help them to make better choices. CIS gives these girls accountability to a team and enables them to be leaders both on and off the field.
