Bulls run past Cannons, 10-3, in 2009 season opener
DENVER, Colo. (April 26, 2009) – The Denver Bulls defeated the Colorado Cannons by the score of 10-3 in NABA 18AAA action on Sunday afternoon, April 26th, at Colorado Academy High School in Denver.D. Sandoval homered (1) and drove in four runs for the Bulls, who finished with 10 hits. T. Gentry went 3-for-3 and Dustan Stevens tripled, scored three runs and drove in three as the defending 2008 18AAA champion Bulls improved to 1-0 on the season. Starter Paul Boland (6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 5 K; now 1-0) fanned five and did not allow a run.
The Cannons’ Chris Rolofson and Dan Gutierrez collected three hits apiece while starter Josh Zavislan (4.0 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 6 BB, 1 K; now 0-1) suffered the loss. Gutierrez drove in all three runs for the Cannons (1-0).
The Colorado Cannons are scheduled to play the Denver Orioles on Sunday, May 3rd, at 4:00 p.m. at Double Angel Park (varsity field) in Parker.
