Cannons fall to Browns, 13-9, in season finale

Jerebker fills in, drive in three

 


                DENVER, Colo. (August 30, 2009) –
The Denver Browns defeated the Colorado Cannons by the score of 13-9 on Sunday afternoon, August 30th, in NABA 18AAA action at the Machebeuf High School varsity baseball field in Denver.  For the box score, click here.

 

The Colorado Reds’ Matt Jerebker filled in for a depleted Cannons squad and drove in three runs with a triple and sacrifice fly.  Danny Hodges went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI while newcomer Ted Taylor went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.  Hodges (3.0 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 6 BB, 1 K; now 1-5) suffered the loss as the Cannons finished the 2009 season with a 3-14-1 overall record.

 

Chris Moore and T. Butler (three runs scored) both went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Browns, who finished the regular season with a 10-8-0 overall record and qualified as the #5 seed for the NABA 18AAA playoffs.  Luke Klingensmith (6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K) picked up the win while J. Lavergne and Dustin Burns each had three hits and three runs scored.
