Garcia
tosses three-hit complete game
The
Cannons’ Chris Garcia (9.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 8 K) threw a three-hit
complete game and improved his season record to 3-2. Dan Gutierrez went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a
pair of runs scored for the Cannons, who improved to 4-9. Danny Hodges (2-for-3, two RBI, two BB), Dane
Wimmer (2-for-4, RBI), Josh Zavislan
(2-for-3, two runs, SF, RBI) and Matt Harris (2-for-6, double) each had two
hits while Jacob Maupin (1-for-4, double, two SB) and Jeff Duggan (SF, RBI, SB)
scored two runs apiece. Ted Jimenez, who
recorded his fifth outfield assist of the year on Sunday, went 1-for-2 with two
walks and an RBI double. The Cannons,
who rapped a season-best 13 hits, won for the second time in their last three
games despite stranding 10 runners on base.
Garcia, who finished the game with eight strikeouts, did not allow a hit
until the fifth inning.
Justin
went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple and a run scored for the Wolverines (4-9) as
Chad (4.0 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 1 K) suffered the loss.
The
Colorado Cannons will play the Colorado Barracudas (5-8) on Sunday, July 27th,
