Senior Lauren Court was named to the 2011 AAAAA First Team All State Team by the Georgia High School Coaches Association.  She was also named First Team All County by the Gwinnett Daily Post. Both honors were for the second consecutive year.

Senior Chris Rajek was also named to the Gwinnett Daily Post First Team All County for the second consecutive year.

Congratulations to Lauren and Chris and best of luck to them in their collegiate careers.

Eagle Golfers Cap Off Season At Banquet

The Collins Hill Eagles Boys & Girls Golf Teams ended their season at the awards banquet Tuesday, May 17th at Collins Hill G.C.

Several awards were handed out by Coach Warman and Coach Savage highlighted by the Seniors being recognized in their final high school golf event. Chris Rajek, Adam Palinski, Lauren Court and Abby Sparrow finished their careers and were each awarded the traditional Senior Award.

Several of the golfers (most of the team) were recognized for their academic achievement for the current school year earning  the CHHS "Scholar Athlete" award for achieving a 3.5 or better GPA while competing at the varsity level.  Alex Simpson, Adam Palinski, Mark Murphy, Jack McGinnis, Sean Stachler, A.J.Santos, Lauren Court, Ellin Min and Merritt Williams were all given the prestigious award.

The "Most Improved" golfer went to Sophomore Jack McGinnis for the boys and Sophomore Ellin Min for the Girls

 Receiving a "Coaches Award" for the boys was Junior Sean Stachler.  This award exemplifies many top qualities contributing to the individual and team success throughout the season.

The last award given out for the night was the "Eagle Award" for boys and girls. The highest honor, the Eagle Award traditionally goes to the the golfer with the season low stroke average.  Receiving the Eagle Award for the girls for the 4th consecutive year was Lauren Court.  In addition, Lauren was recognized for being named to the First Team All State for the second consecutive year.  Lauren will continue her golf career at Georgia State University next year.

Chris Rajek won the Eagle Award for the boys for the second year in a row.  Chris will continue his golf career at Florida Atlantic University next year.

The food was great, the atmosphere was festive, and while many were saying their good byes to the seniors, there was a distinct enthusiasm for ther returning golfers for the 2012 season.   GO EAGLES!!!!   Check out more Pics in "Eagle Pics" link.

Eagle Girls Finish Season Tied For 7th At State, Court Ends Stellar Career With 4th Place Finish

Court Eyes A Birdie

The Collins Hill Lady Eagles defended their 2010 state title valiently, shooting 178 and finishing tied for 7th out of the 16 team field at the par 72 Monroe C.C. in Monroe, GA.  Tifton took the team title with a 159 after finishing second to the Eagles last year.  West Forsyth was 4 behind Tifton placing second shooting 163 and Milton took 3rd with 164. 

Lauren Court fought a balky putter all day but still played well enough to finished her stellar 4 year Collins Hill career with a tie for 4th place individually shooting a 78.  Medalist honors went to Sydney Conrad of Harrison shooting a 73.  West Forsyth's Izabella Skinner was third with a 76 and Kayla Jones from Milton shot a 77.

Also scoring for the Eagles in her first state appearance was Sophomore Ellen Min shooting 100.  Finishing her senior year and in her second consecutive state appearance, Abby Sparrow carded a 116, and Freshman Merritt Williams shot a 121.

Eagle Girls On To State Second Year In A Row - Take Second In Region 7AAAAA

The Collins Hill Eagle Girls Golf Team won the right to play in the State Tournament for the second year in a row.  Led by Senior and defending individual State Champion Lauren Court's Co-Medalist 77, and a tie for 7th, Elln Min's 96, the Eagles scored a second place finish shooting 173 in the Region 7AAAAA Tournament at the difficult par 72 Reunion Golf Club in Brazelton, Ga on Tuesday, April 20th.  In other scoring, Senior Abby Sparrow shot a 115 and Freshman Merritt Williams carded a 122 for the Eagles.  

Mill Creek (163) was the champion and will join Collins Hill as the Eagles defend their 2010 State Championship on May 2nd at Monroe C.C. at the 2011 State Tournament.  Check out the link to the Post's article by clicking on the headline of this article.

Eagle Boys End Season Having Tough Day At Region 7AAAAA Tournament

The Eagle Boys Golf Team ended their season with a fifth place finish, struggling on the beautifull but difficult par 72 Sugar Loaf C.C.. The Eagles scored a 360 with the top 4 scores counting out of the six players for the 18 hole event.  The top two spots earn berths in the State Tournament and those went to Norcross (307) and Mill Creek (313).  Peachtree Ridge (318) was 3rd and North Gwinnett (325) 4th.

The Eagles were led by Senior Chris Rajek's T14th place 82, followed by Sophomore Jack McGinnis shooting an 88.  Rounding out the scoring for the Eagles were Freshman Alex Simpson with a 94, and Sophomore Mark Murphy shooting a 96.  Other scores were Patrick Diehl with a 100 and Sean Stachler with a 104.

Eagle Boys And Girls Win With Lowest Scores Of The Year On Senior Day

With easily their lowest team total of the season, the Eagle Boys downed Apalachee 155 - 165 at the par 36 Providence Club on Wednesday, April 13th.  As they played their last match of the regular season, the Eagles celebrated Senior Day by shooting their best scores as they prepare for Regions this coming Tuesday at TPC Sugarloaf C.C.. The Eagles were lead by match medalist Chris Rajek's 1 under par 35. Mark Murphy added a 38. Other scores to follow.

The Eagle Girls also had their best team score of the season downing Apalachee 83 - 97.  The Eagles were lead by Medalist Lauren Court's 40 while Ellen Min was close behind with a 43.

Both Eagle Teams will compete  in the Region 7AAAAA tournaments next Tuesday, April 19th with approximate tee times beginning at 11 AM.  The Boys will be at TPC Sugar Loaf C.C. and the Girls will be at Reunion G.C..  The weather forecast is sunny and 80 degrees for a high.  Let's get out to watch and support our Eagle Teams as they compete foe a place in  the state tournament.  GO EAGLES!!

Eagles Girls Win, Boys Drop Match To North

On Tuesday April 12th, the Lady Eagles defeated North Gwinnett 92-96 at the par 35 Collins Hill G.C..  The Eagles were lead by Medalist Lauren Court's 38 followed by Ellen Min's 54.  Abby Sparrow shot a 64 and Merritt Williams a 65.

The Eagle boys weren't quite as fortunate as they went down to North Gwinnett 169 - 160.  The Eagles used balanced scoring in their effort lead by Chris Rajek's 41.  Alex Simpson had a 42 and rounding out the scoring with 43s were Mark Murphy and Patrick Diehl.  Shooting 44s were Shawn Stachler, Jack McGinnis and Adam Palinski. AJ Santos had a 45.



Sunday, April 3
Mill Creek Downs The Eagle Boys at Hamilton Mill

On a cool and blustery day, Mill Creek Boys handled the Eagles 163 - 174 on Thursday, March 31st at the par 36 Hamilton Mill G.C.  Medalist was Dylan Pence shooting a 39 for Mill Creek.  Low for the Eagles was Chris Rajek with a 41, Mark Murphy shot a 43 and rounding out the scoring for the Eagles with 45s were Patrick Diehl and Alex Simpson.  Jack McGinnis carded a 48.

The Eagle Girls also played but scores weren't available and the site will be updated at a later date.



Sunday, April 3
Norcross Boys Shoot Under Par Rounds Beating Eagles, Lady Eagles Win

Norcross Freshman Zach Healy scorched the par 35 Collins Hill G.C. with a 32, and Josh Klipstien a 34 as the Blue Devils easily handled the Eagles 144 - 174 Tuesday, March 29th.  Low for Collins Hill was Freshman Alex Simpson shooring a 39.  Newcomer Shawn Stachler shot a 44 followed by a 45 for Alain Santos. Rounding out the scoring for the Eagles shooting 46s were Mark Murphy and Jack McGinnis.  Patrick Diehl carded a 47.

The Lady Eagles won their match VS Norcross shooting a 97 with Lauren Court leading the way carding a 42.  Abby Sparrow finished the scoring for the Eagles with a 55.  Ellen Min shot a 60 and Merritt Williams a 62.

Eagles’ Court Picks Georgia State Golf

Collins Hill senior Lauren Court has made a commitment to play college golf for Georgia State. Court, who has won Southeastern Junior Tour and Georgia PGA Junior Tour events this season, won the Class AAAAA individual title during her junior season of high school while leading the Eagles to the team championship.
