Developmental News:

I apologize for the delay in posting the schedule for the non-travel teams which will start in January.  After getting feed back from some of the participants it looks like the best time to hold the sessions will be on Saturdays.  The sessions will be held at Savannah Country Day School for 10 weeks starting on Saturday January 9th. Here is the schedule:

1:30 - 3:00  8 -10 year olds

3:00 - 5:00  girls currently in middle school. 

I am excited to announce that the SCAD coaches and players will lead the sessions from 3:00 - 5:00.  I will e-mail out additional info. this week.  If you do not receive an e-mail with the program information please e-mail me at ClubSavVB@comcast.net.  Thanks! 

 

Travel Team NEWS:

1) All travel team players need to try on jerseys this week (no later than Wednesday if possible)!  This is important - we need to place the order so we can get numbers on the jerseys.  If you cannot make one of the practices this week you need to contact Mike Lance.

2) We are going to begin our fund raiser this week.  We will try and have it complete by December 29th.  We will be selling Coca-Cola products.  More info. will follow at practice.

Note:  Please have one parent of each Middle School player be present for the last 5 minutes of practice so we can discuss the tournament schedule.  THanks!

First of all – thanks to everyone who tried out for a Club Savannah Volleyball team this year.  I am proud of all of you.   Listed below are the teams for the 2010 season.  We will not have a practice until after Thanksgiving, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday December 2.  More information will follow.

I know it is terribly disappointing for those of you not selected for a team.  Keep your head held high and do not give up.  I recruited another coach with great experience because we had such a large turnout this year.  Before tryouts were completed, a few players decided not to play, which would have left a team of six, possibly seven players.  From past experience, we have found out it is very difficult to maintain a team with so few players.   In the near future I hope to announce a schedule for weekly skills sessions to anyone interested in improving their skills.

Middle School Travel Teams 

 

Thanks to all of the girls who tried out for the 14 and under age groups.   It was such a pleasure to see your positive attitudes and enthusiasm you had throughout the tryouts.  Listed below are the rosters for the 14 and 13 year old teams.   Congratulations to all of you who were placed on a team.  For those of you who do not see your name on a roster do not get discouraged – we recommend that you participate in our developmental league, sharpen your skills and come back strong next year.  You will also notice that we do not have a 12 and under team listed.   We also recommend that girls in the 12 and under age group participate in our developmental program.   If you have any questions please contact me – Mike Lance – mdlance@comcast.net.  NOTE:  We will post the first practice for these age groups on Monday evening - December 1rst.
