Saline/Milan
The wresting team opened its 2010-2011 season losing to Saline 54-21 and Milan 50-27. Going undefeated 2-0 on the night was Michael Sexton (112) and Billy Tervo (160). Going 1-1 on the night was Jake Tuckerman, Kyle Perry, Kevin Cook, Jacob Brassfield and Tanner Stakley. Clinton travels to Concord on Saturday with a 9:00 am start.
26th Annual Groover Concord Tournament/Sexton Champ
The wrestling team traveled to the 26th annual Concord tournament and crowned one champion. Michael Sexton (112) took first with a pin in the finals to take home 1st place. Finishing in second place was Kevin Cook (152) and Billy Tervo (160). Finishing in 3rd place was Tanner Stakley (171) and in fourth place was Eric Smither (125). Going 2-1 on the day was John Sullivan (215). “The young guys got some matches under their belt and are starting to come along. We will get better every day, their work ethic is very good.”
The wrestlers will be home this Wednesday against Plymouth and Salem High School for a tri-meet with a start time of 5:30.
