Former Morgan Park Sprinter Alexandria Anderson recently WON the 60m dash at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The field included number one ranked, Carmelia Jeter.
Additional CPS Alumni in the news, include Derrick Rose (Simeon) was voted a starter for the NBA All-Star Game. Chris Campbell (Marshall) earned a Super Bowl Ring with the Green Bay Packers. Cappie Poindexter (Marshall) lead the Phoenix Mercury to a WNBA Title.

Northside College Prep, and Mather among new additions to IHSA Class 2A Cross Country
On Thursday, June 16, 2011, the IHSA made classifcation changes to reach their goal of having equal amount of schools in each class. In previous years, one class would have as many as 300 schools, while the remaining classes only had 100 schools.
In 2011, High Schools with enrollments of 761 students to 1,687 students will be placed in Class 2A for Cross Country. High Schools with enrollments of 1688 and over will be placed in Class 3A for Cross Country.
This has resulted in 141 schools being placed in Class 2A, and 140 schools schools being placed in Class 3A for the 2011 Cross Country season.
Northside College Prep has 1,088 students and has been placed in Class 2A for the 2011 Cross Country season. Mather has 1,621 students and has also been placed in Class 2A for the 2011 Cross Country season.
2011 IHSA Regional and Sectional Assignments will be released in the Fall.
