As I sit and watch him play from the
Ease of my folding chair
I remember the day when I was young and I
Was playing there
Help me not to speak at all
As I oppose an umpires call
Help me to curb my bolsterous voice as I oppose a
Coaches choice
Help me not to shout out loud
But to cheer of him of how so proud
That he plays the game so well
I see
That I see in him a part of
Me
That long ago I stood there
but now I sit in My folding chair
Bless him as he plays each game
And give me the strength to do the same
Not quick to anger or to blame
But to remember
It's just a game
And if he should stumble or even fall
