Meeting Minutes

In Attendance:

Welcome and introductions

Booster club guidelines and mission statement

A sheet for contact information was passed around

Fundraising
  • We discussed mandatory participation for all players
  • Upcoming bus trip
  • We need to fill the bus—there are 26 seats still available
  • We decided on a yearlong raffle; prize to be determined. Suggested prizes include: flat screen TV, iPad, and iPod touch
  • We will send out a solicitation for donation letter in the next few weeks
  • 50/50 raffles will be held at each home game

Home Game Program
  • We will print a program once we have team and individual photos- I will finalize appointment with the photographer
  • Need a volunteer to collect opposing team rosters to insert and bring programs to our home games

Team Photo
  • Coach Al has approved photo session at second practice, players will have appropriate uniforms by then
  • Players need to get their own equipment, including yellow helmet

Hockey Bags
  • Each player will be responsible for purchasing a hockey bag at $65.
  • I just found out that it will take 4 weeks to get the bags, I will place the order by next Monday, 11/8 so the boys will have the bag by the beginning of the season. If you want a hockey bag I will need a check made payable to the CHS hockey booster club ASAP.
Name Tags
  • the booster club will purchase 2 nameplates for new players, one each for home and away jerseys
  • nameplates must be sewn on, not ironed on
Hockey Socks
  • each player will receive a new pair of hockey socks at the first practice
  • there are 4 pairs available for sale, first come, and first serve.
Items for sale
  • CHS Hockey ball caps - $15
  • T-shirts - sizes L, XL, 2XL - $10
  •  Limited number of hockey socks - $15
Team Gifts
  • it was decided that a new jacket will be purchased for the team
  • 2 styles were presented, both will be embroidered with team logo and player name and number
  • jackets will be ordered early in the season depending on the success of our first fundraiser
  • senior scholarships will be presented to senior players at the banquet; players will receive $25 for each year on the team
  • photos - each player will receive a team photo and individual photo
  • end-of-season t-shirt - TBD

Senior Night - Tuesday, February 22 at 4 p.m. Mass Mutual Center
  • Cheri Facchini and Nannette Baker co-chairs
  • volunteers needed to:

Banquet
  • End-of-season banquet will be held at Castle of Knights at a date to be determined
Flower Sale
  • roses sold at CHS graduation
  • Thursday, June 2, 2011
  • volunteers needed to make bouquets and sell roses
Community Service
  • Players volunteered over the summer at Breathe Easy for Cystic Fibrosis
  • Players volunteered cleaning up and painting outdoor hockey rink
  • Ask team to participate as a team in the Hasbro Giving Tree Toy distribution, December 7th after practice at STCC. Team needed to unload toys
  • Possible opportunity at Senior Night in cooperation with Comp and the Falcons

  • Cheri passed out financial statement and explained our procedures
  • Cheri also discussed how critical it is for everyone to participate in the fundraisers

First Booster Club Meeting - Monday, November 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the Blue Room in Chicopee

Thursday, October 14
Upcoming events......

  1. The top upcoming event is a bus trip to MOHEGAN SUN on Friday, November 19th. This is an important fundraiser for us and we would like each player to sell at least 2 tickets for this trip. We need everyone's participation! The tickets are $30 each. The bus will leave from Szot Park (the long parking lot near the pool) at 5:30 p.m. and return by 1:00 a.m. Each passenger will receive $15 food coupon and three $5 free plays. Tickets are available by calling me at 592-5086 or 237-4688 or emailing me.
  2. We have a scrimmage is on Saturday, December 4th at Fitzpatrick arena vs. Fermi at 4:00 p.m. A preliminary 2010 - 2011 season schedule is out and will be posted to our website soon. Practices begin the week of November 29th but no schedule is available yet.   3. Captain's ice will be at Fitzpatrick rink on Saturday afternoons beginning in November. Depending on participation we anticipate the cost will be $20 per player, per week. We will be collecting the money in advance. As of right now the time is set for 12 noon, however SATs are scheduled for Nov. 6th and we will be moving that practice to a later time.
  4. Our first booster club meeting will be held soon, and we will send out that information shortly. 
  5. We will also participate in the Chicopee Winter Classic tournament during Christmas break. The tourney will be hosted by Chicopee Comp this year, the dates are Dec. 28 & 29, more to follow.
  6. And finally, our final game of the regular season is scheduled for Tuesday, February 22nd at 4 p.m. at the MassMutual Center vs. Chicopee Comp— we will have Senior Night at this game and we are currently working with Comp's booster club to plan the event.
