Monthly Meeting Minutes

Director of League Operations – Christina

  • Fundraising for Fall
    • Family Bingo will be held on Friday night October 22 in the Chi MS Caf
      • Flyers will be distributed in the Chichester Schools this week
      • Donation letters have been mailed to all of the local professional sports organizations
      • Volunteers will be soliciting local business for donations over the next couple of weeks
      • Set up time is 3:30 – need volunteers!
      • Doors open at 5:30, games from 6:00-9:00
      • Need Baskets donated by Recreation and Travel Teams
      • Need baked goods donated to sell at concessions
      • We have the following volunteers so far:  Brenda – front door,

Jackie – 50/50 sales, Ann – raffle ticket sales, Liz (?) – costume judge,

Tom and Fred – callers

      • Need more volunteers!

 

  • Snack Bar
    • Kelly and Christina are having success walking around during Rec practice to solicit volunteers
    • Christina will post the Sign-up Sheet outside the Snack Bar

 

  • End of Season Celebrations
    • Ballrooms of Boothwyn will host our U10, U14 and Travel Teams on November 28, 2010
    • Betty’s will host our U4, U6, and U8 teams on November 30, 2010
    • Ticket sales will begin on October 30, 2010 at the Snack Bar

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • End of Season Awards

All Orders must be submitted to George V by October 29, 2010

    • Rec Participation Awards – Kelly will submit a list of our Recreation players
    • Travel Pins/Letters – Travel Coaches will email George with their roster
    • Sportsmanship Awards – Kelly will speak with the U14 Recreation coaches and Travel Coaches will be asked to name their team recipient
    • High School Scholarship Recipients – George will solicit a vote from the Board for the Boys recipient.  The Girls recipient was selected.
    • Volunteer of the Year – Board agreed to name the award after the late John Connolly.  The recipients were selected.
    • Skills Competition Medals will be presented at Betty’s
    • King of the Hill and World Cup Awards will be presented at the Banquet held at the Ballrooms of Boothwyn
    • Coaches End of Season Gifts – the board decided on the gift
    • Players End of Season Gifts – players will receive a t-shirt.  Families may also receive a CSC Magnet – George is getting prices

 

Treasurer – Terry

  • Financial Update
    • Terry informed the group we have a healthy Money Market and Checking account!
    • Upcoming Planned Expenses will be Bingo, end of Season celebrations, awards, and gifts
    • Terry has an updated record of all the Travel Team Accounts.
    • Fundraising Tickets will be continued to be distributed at the Snack Bar.

 

  • Equipment
    • One Coaches shirt is still on backorder.
    • George has ordered CSC Jackets and is getting prices for Hoodies and other Club related items to be sold in the Snack Bar this season
    • George is also getting prices on Club Magnets

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Director of Soccer Development – Joe

  • Player Development Coordinator – Joe
    • Joe and Al have been working closely with the Rec Divisional Coordinators this fall to further assist the coaches in meeting the goals of Player Development program.
    • All Travel and Recreation Coaches are expected to follow the Coaching Guidelines set forth by Joe and the Player Development committee.

 

  • U8 Academy program – Joe
    • The CSC U8 Soccer Academy has started on Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM!
    • All participating players and coaches will be given a special CSC Academy T-Shirt.
    • Players will be notified within the next two weeks.
    • Davina Sharp has joined the Academy Coaching staff!

 

Director of League Competition – Fred

  • Recreation Program – Kelly
    • Coach Curry would like our Club to participate in the High School Boys and Girls Senior night. He would like to have our players participate as Ball Boys and Girls, play small sided games at half-time and walk out with his Varsity starters before each game.
      • Kelly and Fred have asked all of our Rec and Travel players to participate.
      • Upcoming Night Games
        • Tuesday 10/12 7:00 PM – Boys Senior Night
        • Thursday 10/14 7:00 PM – Girls Senior Night

 

  • Travel Teams –Fred

·        Our U10 Gunners participated in the Dillsburg Shootout in Dillsburg PA this past weekend and played very well!

·        Our U12 Cheetahs participated in the Columbus Cup in NE Philadelphia and took 2nd place!

 

  • Field Duty
    • Big thanks to Glenn Reed for painting all of our Soccer fields every week!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Skills Competition and King of the Hill Tournament
    • The Skills Competition will be made up of three events
      • Dribble/Shoot
      • Scoring
      • Obstacle Course
    • Boys and Girls in our U4 and U6 Division ages 3, 4, 5, & 6 will compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
    • Medals will be awarded to the top 3 boys and girls for each age at the end of season celebration
    • November 13 is the date of the Competition
    • Schedules will be posted on November 6

 

    • The U8, U10 and U14 Divisions will compete in the Annual King of the Hill Tourney
    • Teams will compete in games over Two Saturdays - November 6 and 13
      • The first Saturday games will be for seeding
      • The second Saturday games will be a double elimination tournament
    • Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded in the U8 divisions
    • Gold and Silver Medals will be awarded in the U10 and U14 divisions
    • Schedules will be posted on October 30

 

  • World Cup Tournament – November 20 and 21
      • This years World Cup Tournament will be open to all CSC Registered Players in grades 3 – 8, High School Soccer Players, and Club Coaches
      • Our players will compete on November 20 from 9:00 AM - ?
      • Our Coaches will compete on November 21 from 10:00 AM - ?
      • Applications will go out this weekend
      • Schedules will be posted on November 20

 

Communications – Fred

  • Club Members should be checking our website frequently for the latest news.
  • We will be selling CSC Merchandise in the Snack Bar every Saturday
    • We will be selling Soccer Drawstring Bags, Jackets, Chi Eagles Shirts, and White T-Shirts with our Club Logo on Back and a custom screen on front (i.e. Soccer Mom, Soccer Dad, etc…) at the Snack Bar
    • George is getting quotes for CSC Hoodies
  • Chris Kirk has been helping with the Website
  • We will post the first annual “Trunk or Treat” on the website and ask all club members to participate.

o      It’s being held at Furey rd Muni Parking Lot on October 29 from 7-10 PM

 Our Next Monthly Meeting will be Tuesday November 16, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the Linwood Youth Center
