STARLINGS VOLLEYBALL CLUB - CHICAGO LAKEFRONT
Beginning with a single inner-city San Diego, CA team in 1996, today Starlings volleyball clubs, USA is the largest junior volleyball club in the nation - serving some 3,000+ girls from New York City to Hawaii, from Chicago, IL to Tijuana, Mexico. The guidling concept has been to provide an opportunity for girls to participate in club volleyball regardless of their socioeconomic background. Club dues - if any, are a fraction of most junior club costs and girls are assisted to raise funds to meet club expenses. Starlings Volleyball Clubs, USA is a non-profit organization. The Chicago Lakefront Starlings was started in 2002 and continues to serve girls aged 12-17 from the inner city of Chicago's South side, Indiana, and surrounding neighborhoods. We emphasize physical activity, health & well-being, and critical thinking skills. Coming in 2009 "LITTLE STARLINGS PROGRAM" for girls 12 and under. Beginning Dec.30th and ending March 27th. CONGRADULATIONS: 14'S FIRST PLACE FINISH @ "Friendship Tourney - Indianapolis"
On Saturday, April 19th the 14's travel to Indianapolis, IN to play in the "Friendship Tourney" hosted by the Indianapolis Starlings. This was the girls first out-of-state tourney and their sixth overall. Competition was good. They were 6-0. Chicago vs. Toledo #1 - 25-7, 25-14 Chicago vs. Indy - 25-16, 26-14 Chicago vs. Toledo #2 - 25-19, 25-12 Their next toruney is May 10th. |
