During Leicht's college years he was a two time all conference player and all region. He also compiled a 24-1 record with a career era of 2.5. His greatest accomplishment was being voted team captain his senior year. Leicht then stayed with UWP as an assistant pitching coach and UWP made it to the Division II World Series that year.
