So, if your name or a team you were on is listed in this section, give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done!! If anyone has information to contribute to this section (photos, stories, or even banners that have been tucked away in the closet and forgotten), please contact the site administrator. We'd really like to add more historical information to the website. If you've been upstairs in the clubhouse, you've seen banners hung around the room in a (somewhat) random pattern. The teams winning these championships are usually comprised of all-star players brought together for tournament play. There are more banners to be included, but by clicking on the slideshow just below, you can take some time to view the pennants of past Cherry Hill National championship teams. Enjoy!
The Player of the Year Award was established to recognize the player who most distinguished him or herself on the playing field by making a significant contribution to the success of his or her team. The players who won this award have also demonstrated an exceptional all-around skill level. Traditionally, this award is given to a 12 year old player, but there have been years when the award was given to an 11 year old.
Mark Martines was a 12 year old player who played for the Major League Giants from 1983-85. Shortly after graduating from the League, he passed away. Mark demonstrated, day in and day out, great character, courage, and loyalty, both on and off the playing field. Mark was someone who cared very much about others around him. He had many friends and admirers, and always respected the principles of fair play.
