Pride Takes 2nd Place in "It's Getting Hot" Tournament
The Cherokee Pride Girls played very good against some good talent in the "It's Getting Hot in Kennworth" Tournament. Played 1 warm-up game, followed by a double elimination bracket play, May 10th, 2008. A 1 day tournament starting at 8am and championship game being played at 9pm, a full day of softball.
The girls played well in their first bracket game to continue in the winners bracket against the West Cobb Thunder. In a tough battle, a game at any moment that could have gone either way, the girls took a loss to the North GA Blazers by 1 run. Battled back in the losers bracket to beat the West Cobb Thunder to take on the North GA Blazers in the Championship game. The Pride took the lead at the top of the last inning, and took the loss in the bottom of the inning after the Blazers were able to score 2 runs. The two best games of the tournament were between the North Ga Blazers and our Pride Girls.

Pride Red takes 2nd Place to Pride White
Pride Red and Pride White finish in the top 2 spots. Pride White team knocked our Pride Red team into the losers bracket. Our girls battled back against some tough competition to have the two Pride teams playing for the championship that finished after midnight.
Pride White took the championship by 2 runs, Pride Red finished runner-up.

Pride takes Runner-up in Tournament

The Cherokee Pride battled through the losers bracket after the Duluth Diamond Catz knocked them into the losers bracket. The Cherokee Pride girls and the Diamond Catz met again in the championship game.
Exciting championship game where the Pride was the home team and behind 2-0 until they took the lead 4-2 with one inning left. The Diamond Catz scored and at the bottom of the last inning, the score was 5-4. The Pride girls could not get the runner across the plate and took the runner-up spot in the tournament.

Pride takes Runner-Up at close to 1am in morning
The girls started at the park at 8am warming up for a 9:10am game. Throughout the day, they remained in the Winners Bracket. In the Championship game, they played the Kennworth Bandits which they knocked in the losers bracket earlier in the day. After a tough battle from both teams, the Bandits won the game forcing the 'IF' game. In the end, the Pride fell short on runs and took Runner-Up just before 1am Sunday morning.

Fall 2008 / Spring 2009 Tryouts Scheduled August 16th
The 96 Cherokee Pride Red Fastpitch Softball Team will be hosting tryouts for the upcoming Fall/Spring Season.
We will be a second year 12U team playing out of the J.J. Biello Park (Twin Creeks) in Woodstock, GA. This is an open tryout, we are looking to fill all positions with dedicated, hard working players who have a passion for Competitive Fastpitch Softball and want to play against the best of best.
We will have a limited Fall Season, as we schedule around the feeder or Metro / Junior league schedules, we hope to play a few tournaments in October/November. Our focus for the Fall/Winter will be Fundamentals, Speed & Agility, and Team Building; all focusing on the Spring/Summer 2009 Season.
When: Saturday, August 16th, 10am – noon
