Welcome to the "Chattanooga Lady Super Stars" AAU Basketball Program Website.  It is indeed my pleasure as Head Coach/General Manager, to invite you to surf our website to see what our student/athlete's have accomplished during the past two years.  Additionally, I would like to welcome our 13U coaching staff, Mr. Randall Armstrong and Mr. Edrick Smith.

Team Mission Statement

A “Chattanooga Lady Super Star” is a young lady who believes in herself and her team.  She is a young lady who knows God is the way, the truth, and the light.  She believes in perseverance, commitment, and teamwork.  She believes in the sisterhood of her teammates who all understand that success is the way and failure is not an option.

The Center of Opportunity piloted our first Outreach Program at East Lake Recreation Center.  The program was called “Operation Outreach:  Mobilizing East Lake Youth through Academics and Athletics”. During that time, we had over 50 students participating in our Talent Search, Career Discovery and Athletics-In-Action components.

The fruits of our labor in 2007 allowed us the opportunity to developed our first AAU 13U Basketball Team the “East Lake Super 13’s” which was based out of East Lake Recreation Center

The players were selected from several middle school basketball programs throughout the county such as:  CSLA,  Brown, Red Bank, East Lake, Dalewood, Sale Creek, and Chattanooga  Middle.

These kids are participants in our outreach program and are Chattanooga’s Future Stars.  This is an excellent educational and athletic training opportunity designed to improve the quality of girls/women basketball in our city.

During our first year we finished first place in the YMCA Dream Hoop Classic, second place in the AAU Girls 13 & Under Chattanooga Earlybird Classic, finished second in the sub-state and qualified for the Tennessee AAU State Playoffs.

This program allowed us the opportunity to develop working relationships with two of Tennessee’s major universities, University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Tennessee State University in Nashville.

"Obstacles don't have to stop you.  If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.  Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."- Micheal Jordan

From "Super 13's To "Lady Super Stars"

During the end of our 2007 season we elected to change our club name to the "Chattanooga Lady Super Stars" to indicate that we are a female program.

Our 2008 AAU Basketball Season was very promising for the “Chattanooga Lady Super Stars”.  We were able to form a second team, which moved our overall number to 22 players and 4 ball girls representing 12 Hamilton County Schools.

Our 13U and 14U players ball for CSAS,  CSLA,  Brown, Red Bank High, Red Bank Middle, Tyner High, Howard Middle, Howard High, East Ridge Middle, Harrison Elementary, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee Temple Middle, and Hixson Middle.

This year, the “Lady Super Stars 14U” was very successful, finishing with an 18-5 overall AAU record.  This group of young ladies finished second at Tennessee AAU South East Sub-State, third in the State, Champions, of the Rhea County Play Day Tournament, Champions of the Knox Vegas Shoot-Out, Champions, of the Atlanta NAYBA 2008 Memorial Day Regional Classic Tournament and qualified for AAU 14U Nationals Tournament that was held in Hampton, VA this year.

The “Lady Super Stars 13U” group also did well considering this was their first year together.  They were invited to play in the 13U Tennessee AAU South East Sub-State and finished second in the 13U Atlanta NAYBA 2008 Memorial Day Regional Classic playing up (14U) in their pool.  They finished their season with a 5-10 record.

However, we combine players from both teams to make up our Chattanooga Parks and Recreation “Late Night Hoops Team”.   This team also had some success by finishing with a 5-2 record, second in overall open pool play (18U), League Champions, in the pool play (15U) and 15U Tournament Champions

Afterwards, the “Lady Super Stars” conducted their first “Future Stars” Summer Programs Basketball Skills Camp.  Our Howard Middle School Site conducted a four day camp from 8:30-5:00 p.m. with 13 campers.

Our Harriet Tubman Site allowed us to have a two day camp with 9 campers, spending one full day in the gym and a full day outing at Harrison Bay State Park.  However, the kids and I have agreed we will complete their camp in early September.

Each camper was awarded a certificate of participation and will be invited to attend our Lady Super Stars Awards Banquet to be held this fall.

Overall, our program has shown great success for a two year program.  With your continued support, we look forward to improving the overall scope of the program and servicing the community during our AAU off season.

 The Super Star Creed

When I'm playing basketball, I'm playing to win. Not to score, to rebound, or to excel in one particular area, but, to WIN. That means I'm a rebounder, a scorer, a passer, even a cheerleader. It means I'm going to be an example of what having a winning attitude is all about. I'll have an attitude of unselfishness that keeps me craving more championships for the Team, NOT glory for myself! It means I'll set an example at every practice, by practicing harder than anybody else. It means I'll challenge myself, I'll set goals. It means I'll think of US and not me, every time I step onto the Court....."
