Augusta, GA
Home of the Head of the South. This is a very busy race with MANY college, youth and masters crews. Efficiency is important. Viewing of the last part of the race is quite good. Set up the tent and get that trailer space early!

Chattanooga, TN (Head of tthe Hooch)
Waterfront site of the Head of the Chattahoochee ("Head of the Hooch") in November.
This is the largest race in N America. It is very important to stake out a tent and trailer site early, and unload boats early. Efficiency is very important here, but rowers spend a long time standing in line with the boats. It is difficult to race more than once here, due to time constraints.

Clemson University Rowing
From the North (from Charlotte, NC: 2.5 hours; Greenville, SC: 1 hour)

§         Take I-85 south to exit #19B (Hwy. 76/28 west). Exit toward Clemson University (tiger paws mark the way).

§         Follow Hwy. 76/28 west for approximately 12 miles and exit off onto Hwy. 93 south towards Clemson University Go Left on 93 south.

§         Once on Hwy. 93 south, go through 5 traffic lights. You’ll pass the soccer and tennis facilities on your left and the Esso club on your right.

§         At the 6th traffic light, make a left onto Perimeter Road.

§         Take the immediate, first right onto an unmarked, paved road (If you pass the J. Banks McFadden building or Jervey Gym you have gone too far). This will lead you past the baseball stadium on the left, up a hill and directly to the boathouse.

Only boat trailers will be permitted in the upper parking lot. Regatta day parking for rowers and spectators will be along East Bank Road, next to Tiger Field (baseball field), and the Jervey Athletic Center parking lot. We recommend arriving early or planning enough time to park and walk. Be prepared for a 1/4 to 1/2 mile walk, largely uphill.

Columbia Rowing Club, Columbia, SC
1871 Omarest Drive, Columbia, SC, 29210, is the "official" address of the rowing center. That will take you to the end of Omarest Drive. Then just continue straight onto the gravel road and follow it as it turns parallel to the river to the boathouse. Please drive slowly through the neighborhood and take it VERY SLOW from the pavement to the gravel road. Rains sometimes cause erosion, so there can be some bumps as the pavement ends and the gravel road begins.
