The Charlotte Flames Youth Hockey Association is excited to annouce tryouts for the upcoming 2009-2010 season. Tryouts for all levels will be held on Saturday, August 29 and Saturday, September 5 from 7:00 am to 8:20 am. Tryouts will be held at the Pineville Ice House located at 400 Towne Centre Blvd, 28134.
PeeWee A, Squirt A and Squirt Select
The Flames will be fielding three competitive travel teams in the CHL at the Peewee A, Squirt A and Squirt Select levels. Players with a birth year of 1997 or higher will be considered with the opportunity to play up if the player demonstrates the skills required and there is mutal agreement with the player’s family, the Flames Coaching Staff and the Flames Board.
Additional Select Travel Teams
The Flames will also consider fielding other Select Travel teams as either independent or possibly CHL teams if there is enough demand for them from you, our customers. Participation in CHL Select will require an appeal to the CHL for a late admittance as scheduling for the Select teams has already taken place.
Cost and Registration
The total cost to tryout for both sessions is $30. Players are highly encouraged to participate in both sessions to allow coaches to fairly evaluate their skill level. All players trying out will need to be registered with USA Hockey for the 2009-2010 season and an eMail should be sent to CharlotteFlamesHockey@gmail.com with the players name, USA Hockey number, team(s) trying out for and which tryout session they can make.

Flames Travel Team Tryouts to be Announced Soon
The Pineville Ice House has opened up ice for sale to the Charlotte Flames Youth Hockey Association and we are actively working with them to schedule dates and times for tryouts. The Flames will field 3 teams in the CHL this season, Peewee A, Squirt A and Squirt Select. We will hold two tryout sessions for these teams with details to follow as soon as we get firm dates from the rink.

Flames to Field Teams for 2009-2010 Season
Charlotte Area Hockey Families,
The Charlotte Flames Youth Hockey Association will field travel teams in the CHL for the 2009-2010 season at the PeeWee A, Squirt A and Squirt Select levels. We continue to evaluate prospects for fielding a Bantam Select team. We will finalize rosters in late August. Parents interested in participating should contact Jeff Clark (803.493.6653) regarding Squirt teams and Brian Tubbs (330.651.2752) regarding PeeWee and Bantam teams.
