 MISSION STATEMENT

With the rising dropout rates and violence in inner city communities, we know that there is a need to present positive and productive activities for our youth. Therefore, in 2008 the Charleston RBI Baseball program was introduced with cooperation from local recreation and business leaders. The program is set up to create an atmosphere for youth and adults which is accepting, challenging, friendly, fun and safe; where self-confidence can be nurtured as individuals grow and develop their skills in wholesome surroundings.

Also to encourage inner city youth of the trident and surrounding areas to participate in the game of baseball, while promoting mental and physical health. With seed money from Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities Baseball Program and The local Boys and Girls Clubs of the Trident Area the foundation for a successful program was established.

The Charleston RBI baseball program consist of 13U-15U junior boys baseball teams and 16U-18U senior boys baseball teams.

Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth outreach program designed to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball, encourage academic participation and achievement, increase the number of talented athletes prepared to play in college and minor leagues, promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the game and teach the value of teamwork.
