::MEET FORMAT::

  • Friday, April 3rd JV Relays First events starts at 6:00pm
  • Saturday, April 4th Varsity Invitational First events starts at 9:00am

::ENTRY FEES::

  • Make fees payable to Westlake High School
  • Male and female teams are considered separate.
  • $45.00 per junior varsity team
  • $90.00 per varsity team
  • $10.00 per athlete if team has <5 members
  • No cash or personal checks please.
  • Entry deadline: Wednesday, April 1st @ 10:00pm.
  • Entry fee deadline: Wednesday, April 1st.

Fees may be mailed in or submitted electronically during the on-line entry process.
All schools that do not have entry fees in by the date of the meet will be scratched from the meet.

::ELIGIBILITY::

  • We have requested National sanctioning from the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
  • Participants must be eligible to compete in their state associations.

::ENTRY LIMITS::

  • JV: Two (2) relay entries per event per team.
  • Varsity: Two (2) individual entries per event per team. Four (4) events maximum per athlete (including relays). One (1) relay entry per event per team.
  • All relay team members, including alternates, must be entered in the meet.

::FIELD EVENT RULES & STANDARDS::

  • Participants will be allowed four (4) jumps in the Long Jump and four (4) in the Triple Jump.
  • Participants will be allowed four (4) throws in the Discus and four (4) throws in the Shot Put.
  • All first attempts will be measured; however any jump or throw thereafter that does not meet the minimum meet standards will not be measured.

::TRACK EVENTS::

  • All races 200 Meters and above will be run as Finals against time.
  • Sections and lanes in running events will be assigned based upon athletes who check-in for competition.
  • All running events are heated and laned according to submitted times.
  • Qualifying for finals will be based on the ten (10) best times from the prelims. There will be a two heat final in the 100m and the Short Hurdles. 
  • 800m, 1600m and 3200m will have a waterfall start.
  • Lapped runners in the 1600m and 3200m may be pulled at meet directors discretion.

::TRACK::

  • Westlake H.S. has a 8-lane rubber all-weather track built in 2008. All runways and jumping areas are rubber surfaced. No spikes over 1/4" may be worn.

::CHECK-IN PROCEDURE::

  • Athletes should check in with the Clerk within (30) minutes of their event.
  • Heats will be assigned after event check-in has closed.
  • Athletes failing to check-in within the (30) minutes of their event will be scratched.
  • One event prior, athletes will be called into the clerking area for heat assignments, lane assignments, and hip numbers.
  • FIELD EVENTS: Athletes should listen for the call for the event but should not report to the field event venue more than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled event.
  • Running events will take precedent!!! We will not hold up a running event for an athlete who is also competing in a field event. It is the responsibility of the athlete to leave the event for a running event check-in.

::SCORING::

  • Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 FOR ALL EVENTS

::AWARDS::

  • Individual awards: Medals to 2nd & 3rd, and ribbons thru 6th.
  • Most Outstanding Athlete Awards: Boys and Girls awards will be given.
  • Team Awards: Awards will be given to the top two Boys and Girls teams.
  • Scholar-Athlete Character Awards: T-shirts awarded to athletes chosen by each team's coach. Click here for scholar-athlete form.

::EVENT RULES::

  • National Federation rules will be in affect for this meet.
  • No warm-up will be allowed on track after the track is closed.
  • No athletes allowed inside track oval unless instructed by a meet official.

::HOW TO ENTER THE MEET::
