Imagine an afternoon baseball game. A player hits the ball and heads for first base
Imagine teammates cheering --- Now picture the player is in a wheelchair …...
Imagine all the players are children with disabilities ……
On May 6th ,7th ,& 8th of 2011 between 100 – 150 teams are expected to attend the
6th Annual Little League International Challenger World Jamboree, held in Norfolk, Virginia.
LLICWJ is very special event enables boys and girls ages 5 - 18 with physical and mental challenges to enjoy the same of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in the sport worldwide.
The Jamboree gives kids the opportunity to socialize in a positive atmosphere to play baseball rather than watch from the stands as others play. This innovative event makes it possible for every child to participate in a structured athletic program regardless of their disability.
Our motto: “Every Kid Deserves To Play”
Regardless of skill, mobility or attention span, every player wears a uniform, goes to bat, gets on base, and runs to home. Keeping score is less important than keeping things fun and positive. Come to think of it, isn't that the way it should really be in all aspects of children's sports?
