CKSC TRYOUTS MAY 28 AND 30

CKSC will be having Tryouts for Boys and Girls U10-U18 teams for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 seasons.  They will be on Tuesday May 28 and Thursday May 30.   They will take place at Millennium Park in Danville, Ky.  The Boys tryouts will be Tuesday May 28 and the Girls will be on Thursday May 30.   Registration will be from 5:30 to 6:00 and tryouts will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  If you have any questions you may email Mike Mattingly at hvillemichael@windstream.net.

The CKSC U13 girls team and the U18 girls team both advance to the finals weekend of the 2012 State Cup. 

The U13 girls posted wins against Owensboro United and CSC Gold and lost to LFC Premier to get the wild card slot.  They will face Javanon in the semi-finals at 2:00 pm CST on Saturday June 2nd in Bowling Green.  If they win they will play the winner of Kings and LFC on Sunday at 2:00 pm.

The U18 girls posted wins against Javanon and Atletico and lost to LFC Premier to take the #2 seed.  The will face Mockingbird in the semi-final game at 12:00 pm CST on Saturday June 2nd in Bowling Green.  If they win they will play the winner of Owensboro United and LFC on Sunday at 8:00 am.

Both the '01 Boys and Girls Lightning teams came away from the Bluegrass Cup with "Champions" on their U11 division trophies this past weekend.  Congrats to both teams!!!

The CKSC '01 boys defeated the Bluegrass Soccer Club Blue, Louisville's United, and Ky. Rush to play for the championship. They played the Bluegrass Soccer Club White in the championship game. The game went into over time and finally a pk shootout. CKSC won the championship game 2-1.

With a 1-1-1 record the U17 girls advance to the finals weekend of the State Cup to defend their state championship.

 * Because of this, the U18 girls tryouts will be postponed until June 7th.

Several CKSC members are making their ODP teams.  The Olympic Development Program is the highest level of soccer with only the best players competing for spots on the state teams.  Some of the CKSC players moving up are... (please send me a note if you are not listed)

The CKSC U10 boys team won two games and lost won to finish as Runner Up at the Bluegrass Cup, in Versailles, Ky on August 13-15.  Way to go guys!!!!!

Congratulations to Coaches Danny Collier & Wayne Combs and the U16 CKSC girls team for winning the 2010 Kentucky State Cup.  This is their second state championship in three years so being the dark horse was not an option.  This year however, they won it going away with big wins over KSA 5-2, and LFC 2-0. 

The U16 and the U18 girls teams have both qualified for finals weekend of the State Cup Soccer Tournament in Bowling Green, Ky on June 5th & 6th.  Both teams won their brackets of pool play to advance as the top seeds from their bracket.  Congratulations to both teams and best of luck in Bowling Green.  Go Lightning!!!

Another one bites the dust!!

CKSC is proud to announce the commitment of the following class of 2010 players to continue their soccer careers in college.

Do you believe in miracles?  It wasn't quite all that, but surely most considered our CKSC U14 girls to be the underdogs at the State Cup this past weekend at the Lovers Lane Soccer Complex in Bowling Green.  On Saturday, the girls held off a strong Javanon team 2-1 to start off the spectacular weekend.  Then on Sunday, they more than handled LFC by winning the cup 2-0.

 Way to go Lightning!!!!!!

And for his efforts, Danny Collier has been selected as KYSA's Coach of the Year!!!
