Central Kentucky Soccer Club -- A Gem of a Select Soccer Club in Central Kentucky
The Central Kentucky Soccer Club offers some of the best select soccer teams to the youth of Central Kentucky. For any boy or girl ages 9 to 18 who wants to learn the game of soccer in a highly competative environment to be the best they can be, CKSC is for you. Our teams will train and compete at the highest level of soccer appropriate for their level of play, from classic to premier to regional. CKSC Coaches are licensed by KYSA to provide the best in youth soccer training and CKSC is proud to claim three State Championships as a result. And our high school age teams will play in showcase tournaments to maximize exposure to college coaches. Our Academy is available for 8 & 9 year olds who want a jump on the competition. Tryouts are in late May / early June. Teams compete in the KSSL in both fall & spring seasons.
We hope you decide to be a part of CKSC. And feel free to compare our fees to other select clubs, U10-12 for $165 and U13 - 18 for $185 per season. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, CKSC is one of the best values out there.

2012 Spring Thaw
The second annual Spring Thaw soccer tournament is scheduled for the weekends of March 10-11 and 17-18. U10-14 teams will play on the Boyle County High School turf field on March 10-11, and U15-18 teams will play on both Centre College and BCHS turf fields on March 17-18. Last year thirty eight teams U10-14 participated and this filled up the BCHS field with games from 8:00am to 9:00pm for two great days of soccer. A few teams even had to be turned away. This year we have expanded to use both the Centre College and Boyle Count turf fields and U10-18 age groups and are again hoping to be at maximum capacity. Last year there was a light rain all day on Saturday but the BCHS turf field was amazing at draining the water away and not one game was cancelled or even delayed. This year we hope for a little better weather. Thanks to all teams that came last year and to all that will come again this year. I hope to see you at the 2012 Spring Thaw.

CKSC Partners with Danville Indoor
CKSC families & friends,
It is with much excitement that I get to announce a partnership between CKSC and Danville Indoor (click on the headline above to go to their website), the new indoor soccer facility located near Centre College . State of the art Tiger Turf (same as at Centre College and Boyle County High School ) is being installed, along with full size and Jr. size goals. There will be no walls so the skill set relating to the outdoor game is the same.
As part of our partnership Tuesday nights will operate as "CKSC night" and will be available exclusively for CKSC members. The focus of the training will be to build players skill with the ball. This will be obtained by maximizing ball touches through several fun and exciting drills led by Director of Coaching, Jay Hoffman and the CKSC clinicians.
As always, “Go Lightning!”

CKSC Club Picture Day - 5/12/09
 |
|
|
 |
Since CKSC began we've steadily been growing as a club. This is in part due to the popularity of soccer, and partly I think because CKSC offers a service that people value. This spring we've grown to a record number of players (^200) and teams (13) so I'll call that a 'win' for CKSC.
To document the achievement, I would like to take a picture of the club in it's entirety. This has never been done before so it's a little daunting, but with a little planning and some good fortune (no rain) I think it will work out OK.
The plan... everyone show up at the Mill Park Football field on Tuesday, May 12th and we'll take a "club" picture. The time for the picture is 5:30pm, so please show up a little before this in order to get everyone positioned. Coaches, Asst Coaches, Team Mgrs, Club Officers and of course the players will be included. Girls should wear their red jerseys & game shorts, and boys wear white jerseys and game shorts.
I don't like to use the word mandatory, but I strongly request everyone to come. We'll take the picture, and let everyone go as fast as possible as some teams have practice that night. Michael Hawkins will be taking the picture and if any team wants to set up team or individual pictures please set this up directly with Michael.
Thanks to everyone for participating in CKSC and making this a memorable season.

Get Your CKSC Patches Now!!!!
Hello Everyone,
The U13 Boys are going to sell CKSC logo patches as a fund raiser to place a CKSC sign at the Dana playing fields. Depending on the quantity that we purchase they will cost the parents $2.50-$3.00 for a 2 1/2" embroidered patch of our logo with a heat seal backing (it can be ironed on or sewn on). I think the kids will want to put them on sweat suits, their backpacks and possibly hats. I think they will work well for polo or windshirts. I am contacting the team managers to ask if their parents would like to purchase the patch. If we can get an idea of the number of patches they would like we can go ahead and place an order. If your team is interested please email your team name and the number you would like to order. Thanks everyone.

Do you believe in miracles? It wasn't quite all that, but surely most considered our CKSC U14 girls to be the underdogs at the State Cup this past weekend at the Lovers Lane Soccer Complex in Bowling Green. On Saturday, the girls held off a strong Javanon team 2-1 to start off the spectacular weekend. Then on Sunday, they more than handled LFC by winning the cup 2-0.
Way to go Lightning!!!!!!
And for his efforts, Danny Collier has been selected as KYSA's Coach of the Year!!!
