Coach Dawn Walker
Coach Dawn Walker returns for her fifth year with the Comets. Dawn will be assisting the coaches this year. Dawn is a volleyball coach and science teacher at First Immanuel Lutheran School. She has many years of coaching experience at the middle school and high school level in addition to five years experience as the head volleyball coach at Concordia University. Dawn played volleyball for Concordia and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. She was selected Lake Michigan All-Conference in 1988, 1989, and 1990. Dawn is married with two children, Keri and T.D. G13 Coach Sarah Hausch-Garven Coach Sarah Hausch-Garven returns to coach with the Comets for her fourth year. Sarah has played volleyball since fifth grade including high school, club teams, and three years of collegiate volleyball for Concordia University. She is the current middle school volleyball coach for Luman Christi. Sarah is a full-time nurse, married, and is expected her first child this year. Monday, September 28 G14 Coach Karen Krueger Coach Karen Krueger is coaching for the second year with the Comets. Karen played volleyball in High School in Lomira. She has many years of coaching experience, including four years at Port Catholic and four years as the JV coach at Port Washington HS. Karen also has coached two years of U15 club volleyball. Karen is married, works at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital as a Surgical First Assistant, and has two daughters in college. G15 Coach Adam Heitzkey Coach Adam Heitzkey is returning to coach a third year with the Comets. He is currently the head boys varsity volleyball coach at Greendale High School. He has nine years of high school boys volleyball coaching experience and is a history teacher. Adam played volleyball at La Follete High School where he earned all conference and second team all-state honors. He played club with UW-Lacrosse and has been a USAV A/AA level club player for the past eleven years. Adam is married and has a baby daughter. Monday, September 28 G13 Asst. Coach Coach Doug Miller Doug Miller joins the Comets coaching staff for his first year. Doug played high school volleyball for James Madison Memorial High School, club for Team WI and then club volleyball for the University Of Wisconsin. Doug has been an assistant coach at Port Catholic Middle School and has one year experience as head coach for club U16 team. Doug is the Ass. Director of Finance for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He is married to the varsity volleyball coach at Port Washington H.S. and has a daughter. Sunday, November 1 B13 Coach Todd Lyon Coach Todd Lyon is new to the Comets coaching staff. He is currently the boys head varsity volleyball coach at Homestead High School. Todd played high school volleyball at West Allis Hale, where he earned 1st team all state and conference MVP. He then played division 1 collegiate volleyball at UW Milwaukee as a three year starter. Todd has ten years of high school boys coaching experience at West Allis Hale and many years of club coaching experience including the Milwaukee Sting, Southwest, and Power Network. He is married to a former UW Milwaukee womens volleyball player, is a full-time dad, and has two small daughters. |
