It's that time once again; the kickoff of football season! Tonight begins a new era and season for Cavalier football as we face the Brentwood Bruins. I'm expecting an exciting and great season, just need to take it one play at a time one possession at a time and one game at a time. You know the plays, been practicing them long enough it's time to execute in an actual game. Defense, you have probably heard me say this before but if you haven't I want you to build a wall. Don't let Brentwood past you! Stand your ground. Offense, ball security. Make sure you hold on to the ball and move forward. Remember play hard and have some fun. Let's go get the W! Go Cavs!

We're 1-0 let's make it 2-0 men. It's up to all of us to make sure we have a chance to win. From coaches to the ball boys and everyone in between, it's a team effort. That's why we have to be active on both sides of the ball. Offense, keep the chains moving and secure the ball! Defense, build a wall! Don't let anyone past you, in fact get to them! Play each down like it's the last! Don't quit til the whistle is blown, if you get knocked down GET UP! We HAVE to make a stop D! Now let's go! LET'S GO! Go Cavs!

It's playoff time which means everyone's 0-0, it's anyone's to win. The question is who wants to have a 5-0 record more. Is it you? If you said yes then prove it! Play with heart and smart. Get behind your team, Sidelines that means you. You may not be on the field but you still have a job, especially when our D is out there! Speaking of the D; Defense, you need to cause pressure specifically the D-line. Make your presence felt to force a turnover! Don't let them get past you, build a wall, and don't stop until the whistle is blown! Offense, move the ball the D can't do it all; we need you to give us time to rest. DBs, stay with your man don't let them get separation. Now let's go pick up the W! Go Cavs!

We all know what's at steak tonight; the district championship along with playoff implications, which means we have to play smart and give your all each and every play. I feel like some of you have not been playing with heart. Tonight I want to see a flame in your eyes. Offense, you've GOT to move the ball! The Defense can't do it all. So when we have the ball, HOLD on to IT! Defense, we must cause havoc in the backfield and get the ball back as much we can for the Offense. Don't stop, play through the whistle D! Let's go get the District! Go Cavs!

Tonight's gonna be tough but that's what makes the game worth playing in my opinion. Sure we've lost a few but we have a choice, we can get back up and fight back. Who else better to face and get a win off of than Riverdale? Offense, you have to find a way to move the ball past the first down markers. No three and outs. The Defense needs your help, they need time to catch their breath. Defense, you need to get penetration on the line; force them into a bad play. Don't just stand in place. Go after 'em! And play smart, no dumb penalties like false start or offsides that stuff kills us. Some of have been saying "This is for you Coach" while I appreciate it, you need to play for yourselves and for your teammates. Now let's go get the W! Go Cavs!

Everyone is picking Mt Juliet to win BUT we don't care what others say do we?! No! We have a chance to prove everyone wrong and take down a team ranked fifth. This is how I see it, the higher a team is ranked the sweeter the victory for us. So let's get out there and play smart! We can't afford any mistakes tonight, we've had an extra week to prepare; which means I expect to see your best! Defensive line, penetrate the Offensive line, make feel your presence and hurry their QB! Now let's put some Golden Bears to rest! Go Cavs!

You all know what to do; protect the ball! We need to be on our A game tonight, Cumberland County might only be 1-5 but that doesn't mean we should only give 50%. Give it your all each play, like you're playing for State. With that said, we need to play smart. That means committing no dumb penalties like False Start or Offsides. We should be well disciplined enough now to stop that. Let's go get a W! Go Cavs!

I'm going keep it short. Offensive Line, protect the backs and pay attention to the cadence. Don't move until the ball is snapped! There are a few penalties that drive coaches crazy and False Start/Illegal Procedure; the other is Offsides. Defense, be patient. Do not cross the neutral zone. I know you wait to get through their Offensive Line but pay attention to the ball. Receivers, get open for the QB. We can't depend solely on our running game, not that it's bad but it takes some pressure off our Backs.   So much for keeping it short.   Let's go beat the Devil outta Lebanon and get a W! Go Cavs!

We need have ball security, when there's two men on a receiver don't try thread the needle look for another man or tuck it and run for what you can. Runningbacks, get your shoulders down and hold on to the ball like it was a million dollars, you wouldn't wave that kind of money around. No you would protect it, do the same with the ball. Defense, I have one thing to say to ya'll.   Play smart. Stand your ground, don't get happy feet and enter the neutral zone! We need to cut out the penalties! Build a wall and don't let anyone penetrate it! That goes for the Offense as well. Protect the backs. build a wall just make sure you don't get called for holding!   Let's go pick up the W! Go Cavs!

Homecoming, it's a fun time; the parade and the dance everything else that goes with it. However, let's not forget that we have a game. We have to remain focused on the game . For some of ya this is your last homecoming as a player so make it one to remember and the way you do that is through ball control and a strong Defensive stand, if we do that and have no penalties we will get the win. Tonight is special to me as well. because nine years ago we played Beech for homecoming and the result was not what I hoped for so it's time pay 'em back! Let's go get the W! Go Cavs!
