Catawba Yacht Club Rowing: Welcome

Welcome to the Catawba Yacht Club rowers website.  We are your place for rowing in Charlotte, NC.  Crew is a sport for all ages - we invite you to join us. 

If you rowed on college or high school crew please check us out.  We would love for you to row with us.

If you have never rowed crew before, contact one of our captains below to get on the "Learn to Row" list.

What is the Catawba Yacht Club?

The CYC was established originally as a family-oriented small boat sailing and boating club on Lake Wylie.  The Catawba Yacht Club added rowing over 15 years ago.  The CYC now offers not only rowing, but sailing and a nice waterfront clubhouse for use by members and guests.  Please visit the club's main website at catawbayc.org for more information.

Where is the Catawba Yacht Club?

We are on Lake Wylie, about halfway between the Buster Boyd (NC 49) bridge and Tega Cay. Look under "Locations" in the left margin to link to a map.

When are practices and group rows?

We offer group rows regularly on Wednesday evenings during daylight savings time, and Saturday mornings all year long.  High winds, thunderstorms or extreme temperatures occasionally keep us off the water, but we row year-round.

Of course!  Contact our rowing captains for information. We are happy to have you row with us.

What if I want to learn how to row?

What if my child wants to row?

Charlotte Youth Rowing is the local youth crew.  The Catawba Yacht Club hosts this group of young athletes.  See their website for more information:
