The tryouts for our Junior League program are scheduled for next Saturday at the Junior League fields.
Junior League Tryouts Saturday, March 24, at the Junior League fields.
9:00 am for 14-Year-Olds.
10:00 am for 13-Year-Olds.
The Junior League fields are next to the CHS Richard Bell Field in the Cartersville Baseball Complex located at 11 Sugar Valley Road.
All players who participate in the tryouts should have already completed registration. Registration may be done on the same day as the tryouts.
Ages 13-14. $120.00 registration fee. Bring birth certificate and proof of residency.
Age Control Date: Age prior to May 1, 2012.
Wednesday, February 8
Our tryouts for Cartersville Little League are scheduled to start this Saturday at the Cartersville Little League Complex.
Tryouts Saturday, February 11, at the Rudy York Field.
9:00 am – 10:30 am for 11/12-Year-Olds.
10:30 am – 12:00 pm for 10-Year-Olds.1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for 9-Year-Olds.
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm for 8-Year-Olds.
Also, make-up sessions on Sunday, February 12, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Monday, February 13, 6:00 pm -7:00 pm for all ages.
Each player will be given the opportunity to (1) catch fly balls, (2) field ground balls, (3) throw, (4) hit, and (5) run in competition with players having the same league age. Each of these skills will be graded on a 1 to 5 scale by the team managers and their coaches.
All players ages 8-12 who want to participate in our baseball program must attend tryouts, except for those players who are returning to a Little League (Majors) team. All players who plan to participate in the tryouts should arrive at the fields for pre-tryouts warm-ups about 15 minutes before they are scheduled for tryouts.
All players who participate in the tryouts should have already completed registration. There will be a registration session just before each of the tryouts sessions, starting about 30 minutes before the tryouts session, in the meeting room in the field house at the Little League complex.
Ages 8-14. $120.00 registration fee. Bring birth certificate and proof of residency.
Age Control Date: Age prior to May 1, 2012.

Our players’ clinic scheduled for today Sunday, February 5 is cancelled.
The fields are just too wet. The clinic will not be rescheduled.
There will still be a registration session today, starting at 1:00 pm, in the meeting room in the field house at the Little League complex.
Ages 8-14. $120.00 registration fee. Bring birth certificate and proof of residency.
Age Control Date: Age prior to May 1, 2012.
There will be additional registration sessions during the kick-off banquet next Tuesday and the tryouts next weekend.

Our kick-off banquet for Cartersville Little League is scheduled for next Tuesday at the Cartersville Civic Center.
2012 Kick-Off Banquet Tuesday, February 7, 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm, at the Cartersville Civic Center.
5:30 pm Doors open, purchase of raffle tickets.
6:00 pm Food served.
6:30 pm Program starts.
7:00 pm Speaker.
Costs: All Stars free of charge, all others $5. Includes meal and a drink.
All Stars - Be sure to wear your uniform shirt. You get in free, and you will receive your awards and have your picture taken for the local newspaper!
There is also a registration session, starting at 5:30 pm, in one of the meeting rooms at the Cartersville Civic Center.

Our players’ clinics for Cartersville Little League are scheduled for this weekend at the Cartersville Little League Complex.
2012 Players’ Clinics Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
10-12 Year Olds - Rudy York Field, 8-9 Year Olds - Bill Bruce Field.
The clinics will provide basic instruction on baseball fundamentals, including fielding, hitting, and pitching.
All players ages 8-12 who want to participate in our baseball program are strongly encouraged to attend, except for those players who are returning to a Little League (Majors) team. All players who plan to participate in a clinic should arrive at the fields about 1:45 pm for pre-clinic warm-ups.
All players who participate in the clinics should have already completed registration. There will be a registration session just before each of the clinics, starting at 1:00 pm, in the meeting room in the field house at the Little League complex.

Cartersville LL to Host State Little League Tournament in July
The tournament will be played July 23 to 29 on the Rudy York and Joe Frank Harris fields in the Cartersville Little League complex in the Clearwater Street Park, at 51 Clearwater St. Competing teams are the district champions from the 10 Little League Georgia districts.
They include: District 1, northwest Georgia; Cartersville/Cedartown/Rockmart/Rome area; District 2, Cobb County/Douglas County area and the north metro Atlanta area; District 3, Dekalb County area; District 4, Peachtree City area; District 5, Macon/Warner Robins area; District 6, Augusta area; District 7, northeast Georgia, the Toccoa/Clarkesville/Livonia area; District 8, southwest Georgia, the Columbus area; District 9, southeast Georgia, the Savannah area; and District 10, the Athens/Monroe area.
The Georgia state champion advances to the Little League Baseball Southeastern Regional Tournament in Warner Robins starting Aug. 5.
The Southeastern Region champion advances to the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania starting Aug. 18.
