Rumble in the Valley Tournament Results 4/6&7/02
The Bearcats earned their way into the medal round with a 2-1 pool record - just missing a trip to the championship game. After spotting eventual tournament champion GBC 7 runs over the first two innings the 'cats clawed back to close the gap to 7-6. Then, a bottom of the 7th, 2 out, bases loaded shot was launched off the lip of the infield grass only to be snagged by the GBC 3rd baseman - killing the last 'cat comeback of the evening.
Outstanding pitching and solid defense contributed to the 'cats strong performances in pool play. However, the 'cats placed fourth overall as their depleted ranks simply ran out of gas midway through the fourth game of the weekend.
