The Carolina Angels played baseball in Cooperstown, New York the week of July 15-21, 2006! That's week #5 if you want to take a peek. What a time we had. The boys and coaches enjoyed some "getting to know each other" time while the rest of us enjoyed some "getting to relax with one another" time. I think all of our team family had a great time and watched our boys come together.
We won our first 7 games which put us the 9th seed going into single-elimination games. We played well and won the first game. Our second game was a tough one against the Beaver Valley Red team. We held our own, taking them to the 7th inning with the score 7-7. Beaver Valley gained strength in the 7th and surpassed the Angels with 9 additional runs. The Angels were only able to get 1 run and that ended Cooperstown for us.
Six Angel players had HOMERUNS while in Cooperstown. Jacob Watts had 3, while Brandon Gray, Matt Rembielak and Trent Miles had 2 each. Taylor Lane had his first ever homerun. And Micah Wells had 1 as well.
The Angels did very well in the Around The Horn Plus competition. We had a time of 24.44 seconds, which gave us a #4 finish out of 96 teams participating!!!
