Saturday, September 25th (9am) The Angels took on the Raleigh Red Wings in Game #1 of the tournament. Only one word is needed to describe this game, "ERRORS". The Angels were truly beaten by themselves in this one. Final score: 15-2. The Angels did get 5 hits in this game from: Jacob Watts, Garrett Motsinger, Micah Wells, Jason Smith and Chad Felton.
Saturday, September 25th (1pm) The Carolina Angels took on the GBC Falcons in game #2 of the tournament. We managed to make less errors this game, but we still weren't up to par. The 1st inning saw tough baseball, with neither team scoring. In the 2nd, the Falcons put a run on the board. Nothing changed in the 3rd. In the 4th, the Falcons added 1 more to the score to lead the Angels 2-0. In the 5th, the Angels finally got in the books with 1 run. Score: 2-1. Both teams turned up the volumne in the 6th. The Falcons scored 2 runs. The Angels put up a fight, but fell short by 1. Final score 4-3. There were only 5 more hits this game for the Angels. Those were contributed by: Spencer Draws, Darren Haynes, Garrett Motsinger and Micah Wells.
Saturday, September 25th (5pm) The 3rd game of the day saw the Angels facing the Burlington Astros. Jacob Watts started out pitching until he became ill in the 1st, and had to leave the game. The Angels fought this one out for him though. Finally able to get some hits, the Angels went up 0-3 in the 1st inning. In the 2nd, it was more of the same. The Angels added 4 more runs to the score. In the 3rd, the Angels could only get 1 more in the books. The Astros scored 2 in the 4th, while the Angels scored none. That's where the score stayed until the 6th. Final score: 2-8. The Angels had 8 hits this game by: Chad Felton, Jason Smith, Daniel Garrett, Timothy Amick, Garrett Motsinger, Kyle Willard, and Micah Wells. WINNING PITCHERS: Jacob Watts and Daniel Garrett
Sunday, September 26th (1pm) A new day hopefully bringing out a new Angel's team. Back in Greensboro to face once again, the Burlington Astros. This time it's for the Classic Championship. Both teams were ready to play, scoring 1 each in the 1st. Neither team could get on the board in the 2nd. Score 1-1. In the 3rd, the Angels turned it on! We batted around and put 6 runs on the scoreboard. The Astros couldn't answer, and scored 0. Score 7-1. In the 4th, the score didn't change. In the 5th, the Astros added 2 runs to their score to make it 7-3. That's where it stayed in the 6th, to give the Angels the win! Our hitting improved on this day. USSSA Carolina-Virginia Challenge 9/10
The Carolina Angels were in Kernersville this weekend for the Carolina-Virginia Challenge.
Friday, Sept 10th (6:30pm) The Carolina Angels took on the Summerfield Sidewinders. The Sidewinders were scoreless in the 1st inning. The Angels jumped on the bats hard and scored 5 quick runs in the 1st. The 2nd inning found the same results for the Sidewinders. The Angels scored some more to make the score 0-7 bottom of the 2nd. In the 3rd, the Sidewinders still remained scoreless. The Angels rocked, scoring 4 more to lead 0-11. The 4th inning, the Sidewinders couldn't score again, and that's where it ended, giving the Carolina Angels their first win of the tournament. The Angels got 5 hits in the game from: Jacob Watts, Chad Felton, Brandon Gray, Spencer Draws, Garrett Motsinger. WINNING PITCHER: Micah Wells
Saturday, Sept. 11th (10:15am) The Carolina Angels faced the Clemmons Cubs in this game. The Cubs went 3 up 3 down in the 1st inning. The Angels took batting practice and scored 9 in the 1st. In the 2nd inning, it was more of the same. The Cubs remained scoreless, while the Angels added 5 runs to their total. The 3rd inning was the same as well. The Cubs scored none while the Angels added 1 more to end the game 0-15. Great batting Angels! The Angels had 13 hits from: Garrett Motsinger, Darren Haynes, Jason Smith, Jacob Watts, Kyle Willard, Chad Felton, Spencer Draws. WINNING PITCHER: Jacob Watts
Sunday, Sept. 12th (8:30am) The last time these two teams met, it was the Panthers who prevailed. The Angels went into the game looking to avenge the lose. The Angels took first bat and got 1 on the board. The Panthers tried but couldn't score any. In the 2nd, the Angels added 6 more runs. The Panthers again scored none. In the 3rd, the Angels couldn't add another run. The Panthers were tough and got on the board with 2. Score 7-2. In the 4th, the Angels and Panthers held the score as is. In the 5th, both teams sparked. The Angels added 3 while the Panthers added 4. Score 10-6. In the 6th, the Angels managed to add 1 more to the total. The Panthers were knocking on the door, but fell short to give the Angels their 3rd win of the tournament, sending them to the Championship game facing who else, the Panthers! Final score 11-7. Sunday, Sept. 12th (12pm) Championship Game! Once again, the Carolina Angels took on the Piedmont Panthers. This one was for it all. Both teams played tough and the score remained 0-0 through the 2nd inning. In the 3rd, the Angels played hardball and put 2 runs on the board. The Panthers scored none. That score stuck until the 5th inning when the Angels busted loose and scored 3 runs. The Panthers couldn't recover, and the Angels held on to take the WIN over the Panthers and finish the tournament as the CHAMPIONS!!! The Carolina Angels were in Greensboro and Kernersville this weekend for the Southern Classic Tournament. The Angels played up in the 12U age group.
Saturday, October 9th (10:15am) In game #1 of this tournament, the Carolina Angels faced the Piedmont Panthers (12U). In the 1st inning, the Angels crossed the plate to score 1 run. In the 2nd inning, the Angels did it again, scoring 1. In the 3rd, the Angels put 3 more on the board. In the 4th, the Angels added another one. In the 5th, the Angels added 1 more to their total. In the 6th, the Panthers couldn't get any runs and the Angels claimed VICTORY! Final score 0-7. Saturday, October 9th (1:45pm) In game #2 of the day, the Angels faced the North Carolina Baseball Academy (12U). This was a very tough team for the Angels. In the 1st inning, the Baseball Academy went up on the Angels by a run. In the 2nd, the Academy couldn't score, and the Angels pulled ahead scoring 2. In the 3rd,4th and 5th innings, neither team could score. In the 6th, the Academy scored 1 while the Angels scored none to send the game into extra innings. In the 7th, the Academy couldn't get a run across the plate. The Angels got tough and put the game winning run in the books to get the WIN! Sunday, Ocotber 10th (11am) The 3rd and final pool play game saw the Carolina Angels face the Summerfield Sidewinders (12U). Both teams jumped on the sticks scoring lots of runs in the 1st. The Angels scored 3, while Summerfield scored 2. The score remained at 3-2 through the 2nd and 3rd innings. In the 4th, each team added a run to their score. In the 5th, neither team posted a run. In the 6th, the Angels scored 3 more for a total of 7. Summerfield put the pressure on the defense, but the defense held their ground. Summerfield only got 2 runs, and the Angels finished pool play 3-0 to advance to the Championship game! Sunday, Ocotber 10th (5pm)CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! In this game the Carolina Angels met the High Point Diamond Dawgs. The game started out with few hits to keep the score 0-0 after the 1st inning. In the 2nd, the Dawgs scored 1 run while the Angels answered with 2. That's where your scored remained throughout the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings. In the 5th, the Dawgs still couldn't get a run, but the Angels were determined to win and put 2 more runs on the scoreboard. Score 1-4. In the 6th, the Dawgs gave it a shot, but couldn't find the bats only scoring 1 run. Final score 2-4 Angels. The Angels only had 5 hits this game and those were made by: Kyle Humphrey, Spencer Draws and Darren Haynes. WINNING PITCHER: Jason Smith

USSSA Kernersville 12U Furniture City Classic 10/16
The Carolina Angels were in Kernersville this weekend for the USSSA Furniture Classic. Once again, the Angels played in the 12U age division. Unfortunately, one team didn't show for the tournament and the Angels and Clemmons Cubs were forced to play each other 4 times. Not much of a tournament, but good practice for the Angels.
Saturday, October 16th (9am) The Carolina Angels took on the Clemmons Cubs (12U) in game #1 of the tournament. The Cubs took the quick lead in the 1st inning, scoring 1 to make the score 1-0. The Cubs scored 1 more in the 2nd, while the Angels scored 3. In the 3rd, the Cubs scored 3 more while the Angels couldn't get anyone home. The Cubs rallied in the 4th scoring 3 runs to make the score 8-3. In the 5th, the Angels also decided to rally and scored 3 runs making the score 8-6. The Umps ruled time had expired, and the game was ended. The Angels did get 7 hits this game and those were by: Kyle Willard, Timothy Amick, Darren Haynes, Garrett Motsinger and Chad Felton.
Saturday, October 16th (11:20am) In the 2nd game of the day, the Angels and Cubs both struggled in the 1st inning and scored none. In the 2nd inning, both teams put runs on the board, only the Cubs got more. Score: 1-2. The Angels were flat in the 3rd while the Cubs were pounding the ball, scoring 5 runs. That's where it stayed until the 5th when the Cubs added another run to their score. Score: 1-8. The Angels started a comeback, but fell short only scoring 3 runs. Final score: 4-8. The Angels boys did get 7 hits again this game and those were contributed by: Darren Haynes, Brandon Gray, Kyle Humphrey, Spencer Draws, and Chad Felton.
Sunday, October 17th (3pm) Well here we are again, playing the Clemmons Cubs. The Cubs got 2 big hits off the bat and went ahead of the Angels 2-0. In the 2nd, the Angels got one back to make the score 2-1. In the 3rd, the score remained. In the 4th, the Angels added 2 to take the lead from the Cubs. Score: 2-3. In the 5th, the Cubs rallied and took the lead from the Angels scoring 4 runs. The Angels fought back and scored 2 of their own. In the 6th, both teams were pooped and neither could score. Final score: 6-5. The Angels got 7 hits this game and those were by: Jason Smith, Micah Wells, Darren Haynes, Jacob Watts, and Kyle Willard.
Sunday, October 17th (5pm) O.K., the tournament that will never end. Here we go again! The Cubs jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first inning. In the 2nd, both teams added 1 run to their totals. In the 3rd, each team added 2 more runs to their totals. Score: 9-5. In the 4th, the Cubs were the only ones to score and they got 2. In the 5th, each team added 2 runs each to finish the game with time being called. Final score: 13-7. The Angels did manage to get 6 hits this game from: Garrett Motsinger, Chad Felton,Jacob Watts, Micah Wells, and Kyle Humphrey.
Thank goodness this tournament has come to an end and we have Fall State Championships to look forward to!
AAU Concord - NC Fall State Championships 10/22
The Carolina Angels were in Concord this weekend for the AAU NC State Fall Championships. The Angels came out ready to "play ball."
Saturday, October 23rd (9am) An easy game to write about. Without even a swing of the bat, the Carolina Angels defeated the Gate City Wreckers 6-0. Gate City was forced to forfeit to the Angels because not enough players had arrived.
Saturday, October 23rd (1pm)The Angels took on the NC Cleveland Indians. The Angels jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning. In the 2nd inning, the Indians scored 3 runs. The Angels hit back, also scoring 3 to make the score 5-3. In the 3rd, both teams had hot bats. The Indians added 2 while the Angels added 4. The Indians were quiet in the 4th while the Angels were adding 2 more runs. The score remained 11-5 through the 6th inning. The Angels had 14 hits in this game along with 2 HOMERUNS from Jacob Watts and Chad Felton. Sunday, October 24th (11am)The game to determine who's going to the "SHIP" is about to happen. The Carolina Angels are facing the Carolina Outlaws. What a tough game. The Angels and Outlaws remained scoreless during the 1st and 2nd innings. In the 3rd, the Angels got 1 on the board. In the 4th, the Angels got bunt happy and added another 4 to the score to make it 5-0. The Outlaws fought back in the 5th with 2 back to back solo homeruns. The Angels held at the 5 run mark. Both teams were stuck with that score and that's where you're game ended. Final score: 5-2 Angels! The Angels had only 3 hits this game and those were graciously contributed by: Jason Smith, Jacob Watts and Spencer Draws. WINNING PITCHER: Brandon Gray (pitch count in 6 innings: 49!)
Sunday, October 24th (3pm) The Angels made it to the 2004 NC Fall State Championship game. The Angels took on the Carolina Lightning. The Lightning were determined to not let this game go on long. The Lightning jumped to a 2 run lead in the 1st inning. In the 2nd, the Lightning added 1 more run to their score. In the 3rd, the Lightning had 2 homeruns adding 6 runs to their score along with another 2 runs. Score after 3 innings 11-0. The Angels had nothing left, and couldn't score in the 4th. Final Score: 11-0 Lightning. The Angel's had 5 hits in this game contributed by: Garrett Motsinger, Kyle Willard, Spencer Draws, Brandon Gray and Chad Felton.

Saturday, November 6th (9am) Game #1 of this tournament found the Carolina Angels facing the Mt. Pleasant Warriors. Both teams came out swinging. The Angels as Visitors, scored 5 in the 1st inning. The Warriors answered with 4 of their own. In the 2nd, the Angels scored 3 more to make the score 8-4. The Warriors wouldn't let up and also scored 3. In the 3rd, the Angels went stale while the Warriors busted loose scoring 5. Score 8-12. The Angels fought some more and put 3 on the board in the 4th. The Warriors were stuck at 12. In the 5th, the Warriors added another run to the score. The Angels were down 2 in the top of the 6th. The Angels couldn't pull it out and a lose was in the books. The Angels did have 7 hits in the game and those were contributed by: Darren Haynes, Brandon Gray, Spencer Draws, Chad Felton, Jason Smith and Timothy Amick.
Saturday, November 6th (2pm) The 2nd game of the day was against the Florence Braves. The Angels looked awake in this game and ready to play. The Home team Angels held the Braves to 1 run in the 1st. The Angels scored 3. In the 2nd, the Braves added another run to their total. The Angels weren't worried. They beat on the ball and scored 8. In the 3rd, the Braves were shut down by the Angels. The Angels added another 2 runs to their total. In the 4th the Braves found some hits and scored 3 runs. The Angels decided to end this one early, and added 2 runs to end the game with a 10 run win! Final Score: 5-15. The Angels had 9 hits this game from: Garrett Motsinger, Darren Haynes, Kyle Humphrey, Jacob Watts, Jason Smith and Micah Wells. WINNING PITCHERS: Kyle Humphrey and Jacob Watts.
Sunday, November 7th (9am) After an evening of beach football, lazy river riding and chowing down at The Filling Station, the relaxed Angels came out on Sunday to play the Greenbriar Panthers. The Angels jumped out to a 2 nothing lead in the 1st inning. In the 2nd, both teams couldn't score. In the 3rd, the Angels got another 2 to make the score 4-0. In the 4th,, the Angels were the only ones to score making the score 5-0. In the 5th, the Angels busted loose and put 6 more on the board to 10 run the Panthers. Final score: 11-0. The Angels had 9 hits in this game and those were by: Jason Smith, Spencer Draws, Timothy Amick, Garrett Motsinger, Kyle Humphrey and Daniel Garrett. WINNING PITCHERS: Daniel Garrett and Brandon Gray
