Carlisle Area Little League: Spring 2009 Divisions
The Junior Division is designed for players ages 13 and 14 by April 30, 2008. Twelve year olds as of April 30, 2008 are permitted to "play up" with the consent of the parents and following tryouts and evaluations before league coaches. In the event there is an interest shown by 15 year olds and there are not enough 15-16 year olds to create a team, 15 year olds are permitted to play at this level with District approval. PLEASE NOTE that any 12 year olds who play at this level are disqualified from playing in the 11-12 year old All-Star tournament.
Major Division
The Major Division is designed for players ages 11 and 12 by April 30, 2008. Ten year olds as of April 30, 2008 are permitted to "play up" with the consent of the parents and following try-outs and evaluations before league coaches.
Minor Division
The Minor Division is designed for players ages 9 and 10 as of April 30, 2008. Eight year olds as of April 30, 2008, are permitted to "play up" with the consent of parents and following try-outs and evaluations before the league coaches.
Instructional Division
The Instructional Division is designed for players ages 7 and 8 by April 30, 2008. Six year olds by April 30, 2008, who have shown a beginning understanding of the game and ability to begin following regular rules of baseball, as well as showing hitting and fielding abilities beyond Tee Ball are encouraged to play in this division as well.
Tee Ball Division
The Tee Ball Division is designed for the player's first contact with organized baseball, and includes players ages 5 and 6 by April 30, 2008. No prior playing experience or knowledge of the game is necessary. Players who are 4 years old by April 30, 2008, and, because of size, abilities or desire, show a likelihood of success at this initial level of play, are encouraged to register as well.
