Welcome to the Cardinal AAU 15U Boys basketball team page. We are part of the Cardinal AAU Basketball program located in Alexandria, VA. The team is composed of high school players from throughout the Northern Virginia area.
Team goals are straight forward:
- Improve individual skills with the goal of playing at the High School Varsity level and potentially beyond.
- Learn how to use individual skills in the team environment, there is no "I" in "TEAM."
- Play a competitive AAU schedule in Northern Virginia.
- Play out of town tournaments that provide a learning experience for players.
- Attend exposure tournaments where players can be seen by college coaches
- Qualify for AAU National Tournament and YBOA National Tournament

ABOUT CARDINAL BASKETBALL
Cardinal AAU Basketball is a girls' & boys’ basketball organization that field’s teams ranging in age from 8-17 years old, in both the spring and fall season. The purpose of AAU basketball is to provide opportunities for players to develop their skills and to play at a competitive level. When teams are selected they are registered with the National AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) organization. The coach of each team is given the flexibility to make his/her own schedules based on team objectives for the season. The younger teams (8-12) generally play 30-50 games with the season lasting until mid-June. The older age groups (13-17) will play 40-60 games beginning in March and possibly lasting until July. Each player will pay a $250 registration fee ($200 if the player already has a uniform) upon making a team at the last day of tryouts. This cost covers, AAU card, registration fee into the Local AAU qualifying tournament, equipment and administrative costs. The tournament cost each player will incur for their season ranges from $300-$500 and is based on the number of tournaments the team plays in & how many out of town trips taken. All players will share tournament costs equally. All coaches and administrators are volunteers and are NOT paid. Cardinal AAU Basketball will field teams at the following age groups - 8's through 17's. Cardinal will also field a second team at all age groups when possible.
