Saturday, February 14 CWMS Wrestlers Place 5 at League Tournament - 2/14/09 The Canal Winchester Middle School wrestling team wrestled at the league tournament on Feb. 14th. The Indians had 5 placers: Nick Brady (104) 2nd, Zach Bontempo (122) 2nd, Clay Cundiff (128) 3rd, Michael Randolph (142) 2nd, and Andrew Donahey (150) 3rd. Congratulations to Coach Hart, Coach White and all the Middle School wrestlers on a great season. Tuesday, February 3 CWMS Wrestling Team splits MSL Dual Matches - 2/3/09 The CWMS wrestlers split a pair of MSL Buckeye Division dual matches on Feb. 3rd at Canal Winchester. In the first match of the evening, the Indians topped the Logan Elm Braves by a score of 53-34. Then in the nightcap, Canal Winchester fell to Hamilton Township....61-30. The MS Indians now have a 2-1 team dual league record. Nick Brady, Zack Bontempo and Michael Randolph were all double winners on the evening.....Brady remains undefeated for the season. Thursday, January 22 MS Wrestlers open MSL Action with win - 1/22/09 The Canal Winchester MS wrestling team opened Mid-State League Buckeye Division action with a thrilling 48-36 win over the Fairfield Union Falcons. Saturday, January 17 Indians Wrestlers finish 8th in 20-team New Lexington Invitational The CWMS wrestlers recorded a fine 8th place team finish in the tough 20-team New Lexington Invitational on Sat., Jan 17th. Nick Brady remained unbeaten for the season as he brought home the hardware by winning the 104 lb. title.......he also was voted as the "Most Valuable Wrestler" of the entire tourney. Mike Randolph suffered his first loss of the season in the semi-finals, but bounced back strong to finish 3rd. The Indians other placers were: Justin Emmons (4th), Max Lacy (5th), Max Baker (6th), Andrew Donahey (6th), Emanuel Barnes (7th), Dyllan Brown (7th), and Riley Collins (8th). Wednesday, January 7 Indians MS wrestling team faces Gahanna East and Rosemore in tri-match The Canal Winchester MS wrestlers lost dual matches to Gahanna East MS (61-17) and Whitehall Rosemore MS (54-39) on Wed., January 7th. Nick Brady (10-0) and Mike Randolph (12-0) stayed perfect on the season with two wins each. Other multiple winners were Justin Emmons (9-1) and Adam Ray (4-4). Emanuel Barnes (6-6), Dyllan Brown (5-3), and Max Lacy (3-4) also recorded wins for the Indians. Canal Winchester will return to action on January 17th at the always tough 20-team New Lexington Invitational. Saturday, December 13 CW Middle School Wrestlers take 5th at Amanda Clearcreek Invitational Tournament The Middle School wrestling team had a good showing at the Amanda Clearcreek Invitational Tournament on Sat., Dec 13th, finishing 5th in the 10 team event. Ihe Indians had 12 individual placers led by undefeated tourney champs Nick Brady (104), and Mike Randolph (142). Runner-ups included: Emanuel Barnes (80), Zach Bontempo (122), and Andrew Donahey (150). Finishing in 3rd place for the Indians were: Dyllan Brown (98), Justin Emmons (110), and Dakota Brown (128). Four other wrestlers placed on the day: Adam Ray (110) 7th, Chris Palm (150) 7th, Riley Collins (116) 8th, and Nick Landenburg (160) 8th. Saturday, December 6 Middle School Wrestlers open '08-'09 Campaign at Pickerington Lakeview The Canal Winchester Middle School wrestlers opened the season on Dec., 6th as they competed in the Pickerington Lakeview Invitational Tournament. This tourney was wrestled in a dual format, and while the Indians were winless on the day in the team competition, there were many fine individual performances. Nick Brady, Justin Emmons, and Mike Randolph were all undefeated on the day. Seth Wentzel, Riley Collins, Andrew Donahey, and Max Lacy were multiple match winners. Other wrestlers recording victories on the day were Emanuel Barnes, Max Baker, Dyllan Brown, Nick Landenburg, and Chris Palm.
