Calgary Titans Volleyball Club: Coaches

Thanks Coaches!

As the last chapter draws to a close for the Calgary Titans volleyball club, we would like to thank all of the coaches who have tirelessly and unselfishly given so much of their time and expertise to help develop women's volleyball in Calgary.  In particular, over the last year the head coach, Wes Bader, did a great job of organizing the team not only on the court, but off the court as well.  Wes has now chosen to retire from the coaching ranks while he pursues his continued passion of playing volleyball at a high level. Assistant coaches Taryn and Danielle provided great support to Wes and provided an energy level and empathy with the girls which is critical as well, and their contributions were greatly appreciated - best of luck girls as you focus on your ongoing academic studies.

Other assistant coaches over the years included Heather Lazette and Blaire Peterson, and their contributions on the bench were valued by all as well.

Special Tribute - Lisa Burrell

To our other coaches over the years, we have been very fortunate to have had such a wonderful succession of great coaches and great role models for the many young women who have had the privilege of playing for the Calgary Titans program. Lisa Burrell was one of the key persons in the long term success of the program, as she devoted six years as head coach of the Titans, and her tireless devotion to the program and longstanding tenure is almost unparalleled in club volleyball these days. From all of us, Lisa, a very sincere Thank You!

To close, we in the volleyball community are very fortunate to have such a keen, dedicated and giving core of current and future coaches who give so much back in to the sport they love. It is critical that we all support their efforts, and never take for granted the huge sacrifices they make for our daughters every day of the season!
