Calaveras National Little League: Welcome

Little League International has announced their 2010 rule changes. Among the many in-game changes, one of the most important for parents to know is regarding the type of bat that can be used. This year, only bats that have the imprinted stamp/mark of "BPF 1.15" will be allowed.

This may require you to repurchase a new bat for the 2010 season, so check your bat closely. Usually that stamp will be located at the end of the barrel (thick part). CNLL will be providing at least one BPF 1.15 bat to each team, but will unable to replace all bats this year. 

Last year during our "bat hunts" local retailers did not have many of the BPF 1.15 on hand for all division sizes, so you may need to go online or extend your search if you are interested in your own bat. Hopefully this year with the rule change they will be stocking them around here.

Just so there is no confusion, know that it is not mandatory for you to provide a bat for your player.

We have standardized, and hopefully made easier our division nomenclature to match that of many surrounding leagues.

• Coach Pitch/Machine Pitch/Minor League Coach Pitch shall  henceforth be known as "AA"
• Minors/Minor League Player Pitch shall henceforth be known as "AAA"

Tee-ball and Majors stay the same. 

There. Now you know. And knowing is 1/2 the battle. 

January is registration month for 2010 so get the word out to anyone you know who may want to play this year. Beginning in Feb, we will hold a Late Registration for an additional fee of $10 per child.

So please, make sure you sign up in January when the cost of registration is only $55 per child with a family spending cap at $150. There is no better deal regionally to play competitive sports.

The following are the dates for 2010 registration. Remember, you can sign up your child at any of the dates or locations regardless of where you play/live. Plus, only NEW CNLL players need to bring original birth certificate and three proofs of residency.

• Jan 13th Wed * San Andreas* -Pizza Factory 5-7PM
• Jan 20th Wed *West Point* -Pizza Plus 4-6PM
• Jan 23rd Sat *San Andreas*  -Pizza Factory 5-7PM
