Egypt in Fed Cup 2002
The Egyptian ladies team will travel to Johannesburg on April the seventh by God’s will, to participate in the Fed Cup competitions. The Fed Cup is the world’s premier women’s tennis team event; it is equivalent to The World Cup in football, and to Davis Cup in men’s tennis.
The Egyptian Tennis Federation named Dr. Khaled Farouk Egypt’s Fed Cup Captain for the second consecutive year and decided to choose 4 out of the top 8 players to make the team. These players are Yomna Farid, Noha Mohsen, Dina Khalil, Dalia Elsheikh, Nermine Abaza, Sara Adel, Amani Khalifa and Salma Siam. The Egyptian team hopes to repeat last year’s outstanding performance.
