The Cruisers 16U Harman team won the 2011 American Athletics Toys for Tots tournament.  After playing a total of 7 games to win the title, the Cruisers record was 6-1 scoring a total of 39 runs while only giving up 12.  The Cruisers dominated with a team batting average of .341 and a slugging % of .565.  On Sunday we beat AA's Minor 4-1, Nemesis 11-3, Batbusters Stith 4-1 and American Pastime 5-4.  We are now looking forward to our last tournament of the year next weekend, the So Cal Finest Feed the Family tournament in Hemet, CA.

The Cruisers had a great November playing in two showcases and ending with a combined record of 7 wins, 1 tie and 2 losses, while out scoring our competition 43 to 18.  The Surf City Showcase had a record number of coaches (50) stopping in to watch our players with great interest.

The Cruisers trip to the ASA 16U Nationals was very successful.  Chattanooga, TN hosted 172 16U teams from all over the country and put on a great tournament.  We finished tied for 17th besting over 90% of the field.  This means even more because out of our 12 players, 11 were born in 1996 and still could have played in 14's.

In our run of victories we beat the Frozen Ropes 4-3 (Nebraska State Champs), the Stealers Gold 8-0 (Florida State Champs) and the Oklahoma Force 11-0 (Oklahoma State Champs).  We are looking forward to attending next years PGF National Tournament or ASA Nationals in Montgomery, Alabama.

This weekend proved to be another great showing by the Cruisers when they won the Disney National Qualifier in Norco, CA and will be attending ASA 16U Nationals in Chattanooga, TN!   The Cruisers went 4 and 0 out scoring the competition 26 to 3.

5/30/2011

The Cruisers rolled through the 2011 Triple Crown Memorial Day Classic winning 7 games in a row to capture the Championship!  The tournament began with 2 pool game wins over Sudden Impact Elite and Fury-Smith to take the top pool ranking.  The Cruisers began Sunday bracket play with shutout wins over United Fastpitch 11-0 and the Las Vegas Pride 4-0.  Monday bracket play brought more of the same with a shutout win over OC Banzai 2-0 and another win over the Desperados 4-3 to put the Cruisers into the Finals.  The Desperados fought their way through the losers bracket to play the Cruisers again but the Cruiser girls were just too strong ending the final with a mercy win 9-2 in 5 innings.  The Cruiser offense was overwelming with a total of 49 runs scored to only 6 given up.  Congratulations ladies!

12/12/2010

The 16U Cruisers took 2nd place in the So Cals Finest Feed the Family Tournament!  The championship game against the Firecrackers went into International Tie Breaker with the score tied at 2-2.  In the first ITB inning both teams pushed acrossed 1 run but the Firecrackers managed to score 3 runs in the 2nd ITB inning to clinch the championship 6-4.
