 May 2008...

In 2008 STORM will look to regain winning ways...

After winning a team record 18 games, finishing 3rd place, and sweeping the AABC State tournament at 5-0 in 2006, the STORM suffered in '07. The team finished 11-16 the worst since entering the BSCBL in 2002. The team lost pitchers Jimmy Jaginzski, and Mike Cassidy to work and schedule conflicts and 2006 BSCBL Pitcher of the year Eric August and perennial Ace TJ O'Leary to injury.

In 2008 the STORM has added young talent looking to blend with the accomplished veterans.  New players include University of Bridgeport, 3rd team all conference, Old Saybrook standout 1B/C Peter Barrows. Along with Barrows, UB will have OF John Rosa, Inf/P Omar Isa, OF Kyle Treadu, and C Andre Albaledejo looking to chip in. Also on board is a pair of Bunnell HS standouts, UCONN bound OF Brett Palatiello and Alderson Broaddus P/OF AJ Nevelles.  In addition Mulhenberg Inf Brad Aeurbach, ST. Michael's Inf Evan Genier, and Franklin Pierce OF Kyle Polke will look to contribute. With Bridgeport Round Table disbanding the 2008 STORM will get help from C Fran Mcnillis, Inf Tommy Gonzalez, and P Matt Bartolemi.

The returning veterans will be 2006 MVP ss Pete Rodrigues, DH/P Matt Caluori, 1B Mike Marchese,  inf Kevin Huber, 3B Steve Decrosta, and Pitchers Matt Goldman, Eric August, Luis Rosario, and TJ O'Leary. Also congrats to returning veteran All NE-10, All Region SCSU standout Anthony Fiorillo.
