Rapids Finish 2nd in Watertown CT Tournament
The 18U Rapids team continued its stretch of 9 undefeated games in a row over the weekend of July 12-13, winning 3 games on Saturday to finish as #1 seed, and beat the Mirage and Whips on Sunday to reach the finals vs the Green Devils.
After falling behind 4-1 in the 4th the Rapids rallied to tie the score 4-4 and had a chance to win it in the bottom of the 7th, but couldn't capitilize with a key hit. The Green Devils scored a run in the 8th on the International Tie Breaker, but the Rapids came right back to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out - but left the runners stranded and wound up losing a hard fought, exciting and superbly played game 5-4.
While a tough loss for all, we played very well over the weekend and finished 2nd out of a competitive 10 team field ..........CONGRATULATIONS LADIES, OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rapids finish 6th place out of 34 Teams at Virginia Beach Summer Showcase
The CT Rapids 18U team traveled to Virginia Beach July 3rd through the 6th to compete in the PONY Mid Summer College showcase. We played 4 college coachs showcase games Thursday and Friday and got some college coach exposure for our high school juniors and seniors not yet committed to a college. Then after a rain shortened Saturday pool play games, the girls went into Sunday the number 1 seed in their pool. After 2 and a half games the rains came again and the Rapids were still playing in the final 8, playing their 3rd game that day, and had a chance to get to the final 4 in a game vs. the Mass Bad Apples, but the tournament was concluded due to the rain delay in that game.
After tie breaker rules were implemented it was determined the Rapids finished 6th in the field of 34 teams in the 18U Pool. Way to go Rapids!!!!!!!!!!
