CT KNIGHTS A.A.U BASKETBALL PROGRAM

Ages: 8 years to 17 years
Day: Every Sunday Only

Congrats to all the players & Coaches who played in the Nationals in Las Vegas, the tournament games were exciting to see. The games were remarkable and for the older team(17u) very very competitive and had outstanding turnout of College coaches in attendance WATCHING THE GAMES AND SCOUTING, to the 13u teams who had great parent support cheering them on all week long.
Las Vegas updates: CT Knights teams head West for Nationals playing in the following tournaments -
* Center Stage(13u Dawne)
* Reebok Summer Championships (17u Ty)
* National Youth Basketball Championship(13u Ty)
13 Dawne - 3-0 wins pool and advances to playoff vs Seattle Rotary at 4:40pm.
13u advances to playoff's and start out with a big victory to adavance to quarters where Knights come up short. Knights finish up with 4-1 record. congrats to 13u Dawne great job to the players and coach G
17u Ty 3-0 wins pool and advances to 1st round of playoffs. vs East Coast Fusion/ Knights win playoff to advance to 2nd round quater finals vs D1 Sports at 5pm Green Valley High School
Knights lose a tough game to D1 Sports down the stretch, with D1 hitting there free throws. Knights finish a strong 4-1 record and making it to the quater finals.
13u Ty starts out very strong with a 3-0 start in pool play (strongest pool in tournament)Knights advance to playoff's and beat a very good team Rocks team. Knights head to quarter finals rematch againts Below the Rim team from pool play, Below the rim came out and played with nothing to lose, Knightsb started out real sluggish and did not play loose but the opposite, real tight and they looked every bit of it. The Knights did rallie from behind to take the lead with a minute to play and the lead changed five times with the knights hitting a big layup from Baylen and with seconds on clock Below the rim hit a huge 3 point shot and Knights came down to answer with a very big turnover and sealed the victory for Below the Rim. The Knights finished up with a 4-1 record.

Congrats to the CT Knights teams in making it to the Championship games on Tues. The games will be held at the Madison Square Garden ( yes NY). 5PM & 8PM
The 2009 AAU/YBOA Season is winding down for most of our teams but for others The Summer is just heating up!!
The Month of July is very active for all our player due to NCAA only regulating July Live period. Programs, organizations are holding NCAA certified tournaments, Camps and college showcases during this whole month.
CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Mike Deffley (17u Ty) for making the All-star team at camp (Hoop Group Elite). Mike was selected to the all-star team and was also named MVP. Mike was named All-star game MVP AS HE PUT ON A PERFORMANCE IN FRONT OF ALL THE COLLEGE COACHES AS THEY SAT FRONT AND CENTER. Mike displayed his shooting ability as well as his creativity with his passes and finding the open man. Mike scored 16 pts dished out 6 assists, grabbed 2 boards and displayed his long range with dropping 3 pointer after 3 pointer. Congrats to Mike Deffley for a great job, and getting the most out of camp

CT KNIGHTS AAU/YBOA Basketball/Mentoring Program
The CT Knights basketball program/school started in 2003. The program started with the idea to teach kids fundamentals, team unity, to respect each other, to build friendships, to help develop a better student athlete with Sports and with Academic supports.By Mentoring, Tutoring, offering classes for high school students for PSAT, SAT, ACT, CAPT testing, Introduce the students to college forms, entrance exams, NCAA Clearing House, College and Private school exams and financial aide forms and Special Grant programs and student loans.
(Ages 10yrs to 14yrs old)
The A.A.U program is to introduce young kids to basketball tournaments, travel, team unity, to bring young kids together from different towns, schools, ethnic backgrounds to play together for one common goal, to play basketball, compete together and to have fun.
(Ages 15yrs to 18yrs old)
The A.A.U program for the older kids is to introduce the kids to national basketball tournaments, college coaches, recruitment process, national camps and clinics. To help kids gain sports scholarships, give them exposure to D1, D2, D3 & Junior colleges.
The CT Knights basketball program/school is to teach all kids the fundamentals of basketball, How to properly play the game, to better understand the game,1on1 skills such as shooting, rebounding, dribbling, passing, defense, offense and conditioning. The basketball school will also help teach kids to play together, play smarter and to know what team really means.
