West Haven, Conn. -- Junior guard Tetrick Stonar (photo) scored 26 points, including a career-high eight 3-pointers, and freshman Cassius Chaney had 25 points and 16 rebounds to lead the University of New Haven men's basketball team to a 73-65 win over East Coast Conference foe Queens College at Charger Gymnasium on Saturday.
Stonar lifted New Haven (5-14, 4-9 ECC) in the first half with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. He hit four more 3-pointers in the second half, finishing 8-for-15 from long range, and the Chargers pulled away late for the key ECC victory.

KANSAS CITY, MO. (Feb. 28, 2007) - Marist senior guard Jared Jordan (Hartford, Conn.) was named First Team All-District Wednesday by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for the second consecutive season. He was accompanied on the team by Demetris Nichols (Syracuse), Loren Stokes and Antoine Agudio (Hofstra) and Jamar Wilson (Albany). A Bob Cousy Award finalist, Jordan is bidding to become the first player in Division I history since Southern University's Avery Johnson to lead the nation in assists twice. Johnson averaged 10.74 during the 1986-87 season and 13.3 the following season.
Jordan, a 6-foot-2, 187-pound senior guard, was also named First Team All-MAAC Tuesday for the second consecutive season. He leads the nation in assists for the second year in a row, handing out 8.9 a night for the Red Foxes. During the regular season, Jordan ranked third in the MAAC in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per outing. He had 27 double-digit scoring efforts, with 14 double-doubles and two triple-doubles during the regular season. He earned six MAAC Player of the Week honors during his final season with the Red Foxes, including this week after powering Marist to the league's regular season championship, the first outright MAAC title in program history.
The NABC recognizes the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America teams to be announced at the conclusion of the 2006-07 NCAA regular season.

EDISON, N.J.-Marist seniors Jared Jordan (Hartford, Conn.) and Will Whittington (Kingwood, Tx.) were First and Second Team All-MAAC Monday by the league office. Both were selected as a result of a poll conducted of the league's head coaches. It was also a banner day for the program on another front as the Red Foxes picked up a Top 25 vote in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
