CT Knights AAU

Congrats to the 12's and 16's for getting the oppurtunity to even go to Vegas. It seemed as though that people lost interest in going anywhere towards the middle and end of the season. I know that the times were rough for the good ole USA with the gas prices and our recession type atmosphere, but the kids deserved to go somewhere not just 2 out of 10 teams.

MMFL, Ct Knights, etc

Just like to give a big SHOUT OUT to the 12U team, you all did an outstanding job getting to the Championship game for Vegas 2008.

It's a shame that a roadblock known as poor officiating had to ruin the dream.

Keep your heads up, we'll get it back next season.

Also I'd like to say good job to the 16U team for getting to the quarter-finals. Good Job guys

CT Knights U-11

Man what a weekend for the U-11 team. They played up an age bracket and didnt blink. Their first team must have heard about them and "forfeited" so we had to wait around until 7:20pm to play. They squeaked out a 4 point victory with team ball. Their next game was a blowout and the were ready to hit the pool from the "heat".

Sunday morning bright and early (8am) they were ready to keep the victories coming. Another blowout for the Young Knights. This led to a showdown against the CT Knights U-12 team, Coach Chewy vs Coah Ely Part I. The defense of the 11's rattled the 12's for the 1st half. Coach Chewy called them "bee's" because they were all over the 12's. In the end, the 12's prevailed by deep shooting and outrebounding them.

They showed tremendous heart and didnt quit. Even though they didnt get a lot of support due to other CT Knights teams playing at the same time, the gym got rowdy. Game balls go to the entire team:

Darieyn (Big D)          Jamar   ("Biggs")
JaQuan (Moses Malone)   Mike    (Matrix)
KeAndre (Chris Paul)    Mason   (Punisher)
George (Nini)          Chancie (Rainbow)
Derron (Jr.)            Ashon Jr(Baby OO)

Good luck in the Father's Day Tournament.

CT KNights U-11

Just to add from the Hall of Fame Tournament, the 11's played there seccond game against the Connecticut U11 State Cahmpions, Windsor Warriors and dominated the game. We were all a liitle nervous when the team and family members walked into the gym with their "spray painted" T-Shirts syaing STATE CHAMPIONS!! After settling down in the 2nd half, the young Knights took control of the tempo and played "Knights Basketball". With key plays by Darieyn Tate, KeAndre Fair, Mike Story, JaQuan willaims and George "Nini" Taylor, they stifled the Warriors enroute to a 9 point victory. These young Knights dont get much respect when they play their games but if you sit and watch the chemistry that they have on the floor, they play well beyond their ages. Shouts out to Coach Ashon Avent and Coach Ely for gelling their team to play together. These young boys are something special in the making.

Ty,
Thanks for letting me into the "Knights" family. My last message had a couple of mistakes in it. Thanks for everything you are doing for the youth in Hartford and the surrounding towns in need of positive outlets.I am willing to help this organization in anyway possible.

Thanks,
