CROSSVILLE — On Tuesday, March 27, the CCHS Jet soccer team defeated the Stone Memorial Panthers 8-0.
The Panthers played well, even with down numbers due to red cards from a previous match, but the Jets' bombardment began about 10 minutes into the game with a goal from Shawn Foster, according to Coach Cub Whitson.
The teams shared possession for most of the first half until Jarrod Lee caught fire, scoring a hat trick (three goals) within the last 10 minutes of the half, being fed from Jacob Valentin, Keith Fagan and Shawn Foster.
Lee continued the attack in the second half with his fourth goal, followed by a goals from Jacob Valentin and Keith Fagan.
All of the Jet roster saw the field during the second half and Herschel Murner finished the last goal from a free kick just outside the 18. (Crossville Chronicle)
The Jets defense of Drew Talford, Michael Brady, Aaron Miller, McKenze Childress and Keeper Brandon Brown posted their first shut out of the season.
After hosting Anderson County Monday, the Jets traveled to Coffee County Tuesday night to open District 6AAA play.
