College Park Aquatics: Men's Polo News
2009 Men's Water Polo News
Week 5 & 6
- The Varsity boys played in the annual Jim Healy Memorial tournament this past Friday and Saturday in Fairfield and Napa. There were some injuries, illnesses, and other issues that added to the challenge of participating in a very demanding tournament. In spite of these challenges, the boys made good progress in each game and every player contributed. As they exited the pool you could see in their faces that they gave it everything they had. (Check out Justin's pictures and you'll see what I mean.)
- First League game vs Concord @ PHMS Wednesday.
Week 3
- Fundraiser meeting Weds at 7:40pm after practice.
- Thursday morning practice @ 6am PHMS
- Thursday afternoon practice @ 3pm - 5pm @ DVC
- Friday 6pm - 8pm @ PHMS
We need parents to volunteer to bring breakfast for the Tues. and Thurs. am practices. It would be great if JV players could bring it for the next week (9/8 & 9/10), as they are only going to be required to be at the am practices for the next week.
Typical items are bagels, muffins or donuts and juice or chocolate milk etc. Some families have done breakfast burritos.
I need parents to volunteer for JV-9/8, JV-9/10, 9/15, 9/17, 9/22, 9/24, 9/29, 10/1, 10/6, 10/8, 10/13, 10/15, 10/20, 10/22. Let me know ASAP what mornings you can do so we can send out a schedule!
Week 1
After only 2 1/2 days of practice the Falcon's participated in the annual Alhambra Scrimmage Tournament this past Saturday. If you weren't at the pool you missed watching this year's varsity team compete against the likes of Alhambra, Foothill, and Freedom. Some of the JV players even saw some action. Although a bit rusty it was evident that the players were all eager to get back in the pool and dominate their opponents. Coach Mayers and Madsen were on deck for the first time as the Falcon's new coaches and it was obvious from watching the action that they are ready to guide the teams to success this year.
Please remember: DO NOT pay the water polo sports fee at walk-thru. Peter Kane is going to send out an email with specific instructions about paying all the fees.
Bring your completed player contract form to practice.
Weeks 1-3: Practice M-F 6pm-8pm @ PHMS pool.
Scrimmage at Alhambra Saturday 8/22 ~9:30am to 12:30pm
